| I had no idea youth soccer was such a breeding ground for over the top social unrest. |
| Yeah....I posted a Washington Post piece about referee abuse in there a while back and a few of the posters essentially said "well if the 14yo reffing my 12yo's game wasn't so bad I wouldn't need to yell at them". |
|
My kids never played soccer. I was aware it was a popular sport around here, but I had no idea just how all-consuming it is for some people until this forum popped up on DCUM. When it first showed up I was puzzled. How can there possibly be enough things to talk about under this topic?
Silly me... |
| Where does youth soccer possibly lead to? Get your kid playing an instrument if you have that much time on your hands. Or try tennis, which the kid can play for life. |
| Those families are crazy. The parents are so invested in their kids’ soccer. Ridiculous. |
A lot of kids who play sports (including travel) also play an instrument |
+1 |
| Yeah, I pop in there now and then when I wish my kids were more interested in playing soccer (DH and I are both big soccer fans). And then I'm reminded, no, no, all is well. Go back to drawing your cartoons, DC. |
| will no one tell me the forum so i can go check it out? |
You’re posting in it. |
You are standing in its presence. |
DC's Finest. |
| They are absolutely crazy. A perfect example is the OP complaining about how the game summaries are written-up. It would never occur to me to care! |
And yet, here you are. |
| OP, you are seeing a tiny little cross section of life in every affluent American suburban area. You have a whole lot of reading pleasure in front of you. |
