Ok. But it's still terrible... |
I agree Jen is so so bad compared to how she started, but she’s still pretty popular on IG, right? Is she picking up new followers with this stuff? |
Not a fan of Able, maybe when I’m 70 I will be. But as a 32 year old single mom, no. And has anyone noticed Brando and Barbie have sure been quiet about each other lately? Wonder what’s up with that. All the trips, glitz and glam have slowed down considerably. Almost to nothing. |
I'm curious how people here felt about her MLK Day post. |
(Sigh) Typical privileged-white-woman-rant about how all white people and white Christians are evil and how the black people just can't catch a break. But all that aside, you'd think that if she was going to "use her voice" here, she would've 1- actually printed some of the paragraphs about 'The White Church' or actually printed screenshots of the full letter, (why can she post 10 pictures of family or her clothes, but only one of this letter? Why not include the whole thing?) and 2- maybe be a little nicer and a little less gaslighting toward her very own daughter of color. The actual actions and behavior don't exactly line up with the soapbox. |
Now she has Derek Webb on her podcast to talk about deconstruction. (Sigh) Don't these golks ever get tired of tilling the same ground over and over and over. It's like they're all just sitting in a circle chattering at each other about how important their obsession is with the fact that they used to be evangelicals while most of the world doesn't care. There's something pathetic about it. |
I agree with the analysis of the MLK day post. As a high school teacher, I have taught many of MLK's writings for years. Her response is a one-size-fits-all response. I tried to be open to her ideas, but I absolutely balked at her being so sure about "what pleases God" with the assumption being she's on the side that is being pleasing. I would be open to her ideas if they had nuance, or originality. I live in a poor city and the Christian churches--white, black, and mixed--single handedly feed the homeless population. That is the sort of nuance missing in her one-brushstroke analysis. |
"All you have to do is substitute the names of our governors and senators banning books, denigrating Critical Race Theory, stripping school libraries, and revoking voting rights in communities of color, and here we are." The above paragraph really annoyed me, as it lumps a bunch of stuff together, makes a bunch of assertions that aren't substantiated, and brushes over legitimate conversations about thing like Critical Race Theory (what it is, is it helpful? etc.) while clearly implying that it's all evidence of people motivated by racism. It's lazy. |
It’s so old news. We get it, you guys “deconstructed” and became secular or “spiritual” or exvangelical and now that you’ve done it you can’t stop talking about it. But mostly only to one another, the definition of an echo chamber. For those of you in the back. No one cares! |
Does Jen even go to church anymore? Even the dear little church she started with her ex? Or is “church” just too hard right now? |
If Jen isn’t even able to go to ANC anymore you know she’s never going to a normal church where she can’t be the center of attention and all “extra” and stuff. |
she has no business talking about christianity anymore, IMO. |
I agree with all of the above. She needs to sit this one out, and it shows based on the fact that she has two comments on the post about the podcast. |
I’d listen to Jen’s podcast with Derek Webb if she laughed with Hey, Derek what’s it like to cheat in your wife and blow up your family? I’m currently writing a book about how my ex did that to me and could use some insight.
But no, it’s a sure it’s another huge, borefest between two yammering self important nobodies. |
Did y'all see Sarah Bessey's post today which I think is addressing her extreme weight loss. She finally tells us how she did it... Nourishment. Yes nourishing and feeding herself more. What the hell? |
