Things I witnessed on metro daily.

People eating, grooming, loud conversation with speaker on and don't forget school kids fighting.

Manspreading, oblivious millennials not looking up from their phone when there's an 80 year old woman with a cane right in front of them.

I take the red line daily and don’t see any of this, except the manspreading which is not at all unique to metro. The kids I see are almost always extremely well behaved except sometimes large tour groups from other areas of the country where the teens are usually over excited and don’t know the first thing about public transit.

Nothing wrong with manspreading. The boys need some room and air.

The blue line to Largo and Crystal city after 3pm is like a zoo with kids daily fights.

I also take red line and have no issues in the mornings. Between 5-6 in the way home, people eating sometimes. Otherwise it’s fine.

Red line. The main thing I see is rowdy teenagers. Every few weeks I hear a verbal fight, and less frequently actual fighting (teenagers, typically). Today though I saw a guy at Metro Center who looked homeless and was sitting on the platform with his hands down his pants.

Bag spreading and big backpack wearing (for standees) are as big or bigger issues than manspreading, which is arguably a sexist cliche at this point

Sitting in handicap seats or not getting up for elders or people who obviously could use a seat is bad form and phones make it worse (or easier to be “unaware”)

Teens behaving badly. People eating and drinking. Too crowded. People littering. I’ll take the bus,

People leaving their purses or backpacks on the other seat on a crowded train. I get that we all want to sit by ourselves but having to sit next to someone is part of the deal when you use public transportation.

SG side of red line. I really rarely see weird behavior.

Still better than driving around here. Just look at what people in cars so to each other. No thanks.

People who don't move to the center of the crowded or soon-to-be crowded car.

And when nobody offers a seat to elderly or disabled people or pregnant women. And it's not just millennials, it's actually largely Gen-X white men who are the worst at this. (I say this as a recently very pregnant woman who rides the metro daily.)

Every one of those men, at some point in the past, got a rude response when he offered his seat to someone, and thus he stopped doing it.
