I'll generally just stand up if there's any question. Someone else can choose to sit there or not. Not hard people.

Been riding the red line for 22 years and have seen hundreds of men (and women) offer seats, and 100% of the time the response has been a smile and either “Thank you!” Or “I’m fine, but thanks.”
