| r u a teen? |
This. Come on OP. I did the first couple of years. They didn’t violate my trust, so now i ppI don’t. Although I have the right to of so suspect a problem. And they know this. The internet is forever and screen caps of racist, sexist, naked etc content can come back and haunt you. There should not be anything on my kids phones they don’t want me, college admissions directors and the entire internet to see. They know that too. |
Not past age 13. I have a 15 &17yr old. that would honestly be weird. I also don't have a reason to. |

My 16 yo doesn't give me reason to check, so I don't. I do check (very infrequently) on my 13 yo because the phone is new and I want to be sure it's being used appropriately. If we go a few more months with no cause for concern, I'll stop.
For both of them, I do occasionally pick up the phone and type in the password just to be sure it works. One condition of my kids having a phone is that DH and I always have the current password, just in case. Once I verify that they haven't changed it without telling us, I put the phone down and walk away. |
| Not frequently, but yes. 14 yr old DS. Will do the same for younger DD when she gets a phone. |
| Yes, trust but verify. Do it very rarely. |
| Yes, OP, ur mom is checking ur phone. |
Exactly. If you need to say something that you dont want mom or anyone else to see - do it person. |
And she can do it remotely, any time. |
| Yes, because he can't be bothered to block spam, and it bugs me, so I do it. |
