Anxiety, depression, perimenopause, and...

...vitamins??

I’ve been having such awful anxiety and depression for the past several years and finally booked an appointment to discuss a low-dose pill or similar with my doc.

Three weeks ago, on a whim, I bought a women’s multi gummy (delicious as well as healthy!). B vitamins are included. I swear I’ve been feeling MUCH better and this wasn’t even my intention when I bought them. Am I imagining things??

No, that can be very helpful if you were deficient. Glad you are getting relief. Stick with it!

I FINALLY went to psychiatrist to deal with rage, mood swings, anxiety and depression. I am 46 and in perimenopause. its been total hell and I have a young child. 2 weeks ago I was put on trazadone at night to hero with "sleep continuity" and pristine in the morning. For almost 5 years I have woken up for 2 hours every night in the middle of the night. Wishing two days on trazadone, i was sleeping a high quality 6-8 hours every night, and even getting up at 6am to work out before work. the pristiq works fast within 7-10 days. I feel calm and have stopped spiraling into anxiety at night or replaying things in my head or yelling at family. Its also an appetite suppressened and I am down a pound already I hope these just keeps getting better. For real, I tried everything-vitamins, a patch, and medical mariajuana. I am never going off these two meds.

Vitamin D helps with depression. In winter, I am advised to take extra for my mental health, and I also get as much sun as possible. I moved to a sunnier climate last year and I have noticed a huge difference from when I lived in a cloudy, rainy climate. I am diagnosed with MDD, GAD, and personality disorders from clusters A, B and C. I am not on any prescription medication (except for two pills to stabilize my BP) and my mental health is now stable. I actually do not remember the last time that I felt depressed. I do take a multivitamin every day, for older women because I am 47 and have just entered perimenopause. Good luck, OP. I will remember you in my prayers. May your days be sunny!

I’m 45 and my OBGYN said I’m not in perimenopause. I have, though, experienced changes in my cycle and swear I’ve had hot flashes, and my DH has told me I’ve been moody. I’ve also felt blue with some frequency. Also I wake up every 2-3 hours almost every night. Going on bcp soon - hoping that will help.

Not OP, but I hate the sun. Excessively sunny days depress me, especially when they are endless. I love overcast days. I get depressed in summer. Everyone is different. I could never live in a state where the weather barely changed and was perpetually sunny.
