I would like to live near other homeschoolers but I don’t know where to find them.

There are a ton of homeschoolers in Bowie, Maryland! There is also a large community in the Annapolis area. You could try Gaithersburg and/or Germantown as well. Tell us more about yourself! Are you a religious homeschooler or a secular one? What sort of people would you most like to meet? I would ask Jeff to move this to the homeschooling forum and I would also advise you to find a homeschooling listserve.

Many homeschoolers in Silver Spring and throughout Montgomery County. MHLN yahoo group is a good place to start your research.

Yeah, because there are churches on every corner. There are many secular homeschool facebook and yahoo groups, as well as secular co ops.

No, not really. There are some hippy freaks that homeschool, but it's mostly a Bible Belt thing.

It's anti-social no matter how you slice it.

The homeschool forum has seemed pretty dead, as frankly have the listservs I’ve checked out! Any to recommend? (We’re in NoVa and unlikely to move to MD.)

Do a google search. There is a huge homeschool listserve for NoVa. I wish we had one like it in MoCo.

Not the way we do homeschooling. My kids have LOTS of social opportunities- every day! They have classes and activities and playdates and social outings. They're just not in an institutional school setting. (Not religious btw)
