What’s the perfect number of girls for a sleepover?

DD, 12, would like to
Have 10 girls over from her class. Although we have a large house, to me that’s too many.

5261, but only in months with an "R." Otherwise, 1.

As long as it’s a round number

One or 3. Anything more is high drama. Absolutely not 2 guests.

I've had every number from 1 to 23. Once you get up to four girls, somebody WILL cry and something WILL spill or break.

I dunno. Having a partial girl or two seems to prevent some of the clique-ness, much as sieved egg yolk inhibits gluten formation in pie crust dough.

Perfect opportunity to gossip about all the other girls who weren't invited. Let's just be honest.

Invite 3 or 5, prefer 3. That way, with your daughter included, it's an even number. Less chance someone will be left out of a conversation.
