Best is still subjective. These rankings award points for league and tournament play and performance. The more matches played (and won or at least tied), the more points awarded.
On the VA side, ABCG VVA are now separate clubs, and LMVSC and SYC were never combined. The points and rankings for these two clubs are definitely suspect. At U15, I would still focus on how well your child "fits" within the club's development program and her/his progression. Same goes true for meshing with the coach and the players. Last but not least, if you child is the best player on a "B" team, which means starting and dominating her/his position, regardless of the score, this may be the "best" situation, rather than being on an "A" team and riding the bench. Food for thought here. |
LMVSC and SYC were never combined. I think this has to do with the majority of the team being the players that departed LMVSC and joined SYC to follow their coach. Because they met the minimum requirements they were able to keep that team's points and may be why the name is combined even though they now play under SYC. |
Agree. Especially considering my U15 is still only 13-years old and won't turn 14 until December. This is still very young in male development. Team wasn’t listed in top 10 because it’s newer, but has beaten some of those top teams in tournaments. I suspect them rising up in rankings as they continue. |
Washington Capitals should be on that list too. The LMVSC 05 team from last year broke up, most followed Pepe to SYC, I assume combining with some of SYC's strongest existing players to form the new SYC 05 team that just won OBGC. On the MD side, that Baltimore Celtic team disbanded, and most of its best players joined Pipeline. I hate to say it, but that Pipeline team is probably one of the best in the area right now - DA or non-DA. |
Are you crazy?? Loudoun should be at the TOP of that list. |
Most of the kids from last year's 05 Villarreal team have stayed. They did lose some players but also added new ones. Would not call the ranking suspect. Will see how things sort out once games start this weekend. For some reason, they haven't split off the Annandale part of the name in the youth soccer rankings. |
| The best 05 team last year was Bethesda DA. Not sure it will remain so now that they have lost most of their best players... |
