| I'd like her friends to be able to come. I think the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving would be out, but what about the weekend before? Are most folks here or out of town? |
| It's fine, very few people would be away then |
| My kid’s BD is mid-November. We have better turn out at his party between Halloween and Thanksgiving than we do for our July Bd kid. |
| We've had birthday parties that weekend for 9 years, no problem. |
| Sure. But a lot of people have Friendsgivings on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, so I'd do it Sunday or Saturday morning. |
+1 |
| Yeah I don't think this should be a problem, it's not like the weekend before Christmas when a lot of people will be gone. |
I'd think either weekend would work. We don't travel for Thanksgiving, so we'd come the weekend before or after .
|
Very few people do this. |
| I agree that the weekend before is better than the weekend after... but just to be devil's advocate... with FCPS giving Wednesday off the past couple years I think some people that travel are starting to leave the weekend before to avoid some of the craziness. I think you're probably safe but if FCPS ever decides to give the whole week off, all bets are off. |
huh? We've been going to the same friendsgiving for 10+ years now. Nearly everyone we know also goes to one. They're special because the food is amazing and you're with awesome company of your choice. |
| We also do a Friendsgiving the Saturday before and know a lot of people who have them as well. |
| Thanks all! |

Ask the parents of her closest friends if that weekend would work for them. They're the ones that matter the most anyway.
Also, I have a DC with a late December birthday, and I always pitch his party as a chance for parents to drop their kid off and get some last minute shopping/errands done. Their eyes usually light up when you put it like that. |
I've never heard of this. It isn't a big thing. You are much more likely to have kids with sports games and such any weekend in fall or spring than kids who have to go to "friends giving". |
