I would be shocked if they did a quick not guilty. |
There's no way that not one person out of 12 believes Chauvin is guilty, at the very least of manslaughter. |
| It doesn’t look like the jury sent any questions out. Sending questions out usually indicates there may be jurors who aren’t convinced, at least of some of the counts. It takes a unanimous decision to convict, and I find it hard to believe that there weren’t at least some jurors who were convinced by the prosecution. For example in the Yanez trial, the jury sent questions out, including a note that suggested they were deadlocked. |
| But also who knows, this is speculation obviously. But after closing I would have guessed that at best the defense was looking at a hung jury on the murder charges. In that scenario we probably would have seen some questions sent out, and longer deliberations. |
| They're coming back in now. |
| Verdict is in. Being read before COB today. |
| There is 0 reason to release it just before nightfall UNLESS you want riots to happen. Why not in the daylight? |
|
It's gotta be a guilty verdict since they reached a fast verdict.
I hope there is peace in the streets. |
| DCUM legal eagles: what are the chances that he's convicted of only some of the charges, given that the verdict is back already? |
you’d be surprised how intimidated jurors can get and be easily influenced to go along with the group. |
why? |
which indicates this is a guilty verdict. |
agree - there was no hung jury. judge would have ordered them to deliberate and they would have sent a note to the judge that was reported. |
Why do I hope there is peace on the streets?? |
why are you so sure it’s guilty? |
