This armchair CEO garbage isn't going to cover up the fact that a federal government employee publicly threatened to take major punitive action against a private company in order to censor the speech of their employee. Conservatives used to find this scenario appalling and completely against the Constitution.

But Kimmel spread a hurtful lie that he easily could have fact checked, had he stepped out of his bubble. He wasn’t even telling a joke, he was making a political speech.

It wasn’t a lie - the MAGA crowd had been trying desperately to make people believe that the murderer was part of some leftist group starting when Kirk’s body was still warm. That was their number one priority.

Also, this should go without saying but comedians are allowed to make political speeches just like they are allowed to tell jokes in America.

That is true.
However there are rules/laws in place that do protect people from being unjustly terminated.

And these laws exist to protect people from unfair practices, etc.

These laws exist so that people can enjoy the rights (vs. privileges) that are due them.

Based on his comments, he could easily have been fired for cause.

What —exactly— about his comments would easily support “cause”? Yes, I’ve heard the comments and read multiple opinions about them.

looking at his ratings? Poor performance.

Kimmel was trying to prop up the lie that MAGA killed Kirk. The same lie that the moderator here tried to persuade us to believe, and had to say he was wrong.

He lead in his open monologue that the people on the right doing everything they could to say the shooter wasn’t like them. He was not joking, this was not a joke, he had to know how raw the country was on Monday night, and to use his monologue to spread outright inflammatory discourse like that is unacceptable. To use his medium to confuse and mislead people is unforgivable. He had a battery of writers and producers, and no one flagged it. He and they knew what he was doing and did it anyways because he thought they were untouchable.

Please quote the words the Kimmel used that said that he, Jimmy Kimmel, thought MAGA killed Kirk. Please quote the exact word with which you have a problem.

Kimmel: "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this."

That is not a lie. That is an accurate observation of what occurred all over the internet. The exact same observation could be made about the left. The other "them". At no point did Kimmel state as a fact the kid was MAGA. At no point did he say that it was MAGA that killed Kimmel. He merely made an observation. An accurate observation.

THe fact that you cite this as a lie is evidence you expect nothing other than obeisance to all things MAGA. Which makes your desires more appropriate for North Korea.

At the time, the evidence suggested the shooter very likely was not a MAGA believer (and evidence released the next day showed that he almost certainly was on the political left).

I think it's fair to say that a lot of people on the left at least understood what it was people on the right were reacting to. It wasn't Kimmel's flat joke about Trump's stages of grief, it was the suggestion that the killer was right wing.

“Kimmel was expressing what we’ve heard some other liberals say in recent days that the motives are unclear and that maybe the suspect in this case was a Republican or was some sort of far right fringe figure. Of course, there has been a lot of discussion about that in recent days. There’s a lot of evidence pointing in other directions about the suspect, but Kimmel was on the air talking about this, making a very serious commentary amid his jokes in his monologue Monday night.” Brian Stelter, CNN

I think that it is fair to say that people on the left who heard that joke thought it was a joke about what had happened (not to Kirk) in the MAGAsphere on the 10th. And go look at right-wing luminaries on twitter in the 10th after Kirk got shot. Laura Loomer within minutes was screaming about Islamic terrorism. That's just one example. There are dozens of influencers who similarly tried to point the finger at various groups.

What Kimmel said was a 100% accurate observation as to what was happening on the 10th. 100%. Would it have been MORE complete to say the left was doing the same thing? Absolutely. The left was instantly on the fact that it was Utah, MAGA territory, his father, guns in the house, etc.

By the logic you seem to endorse for his suspension, every single talking head out there should be out of a job. Every single influencer and poster on DCUM. Every one on Reddit, etc. That's what people do. They make guesses, make observations and draw conclusions and more often than not they are wrong.

Kimmel could have made an actual joke about how neither side (left/right) wanted the shooter to be aligned with their political party.

Did he mention the left? Noooo. Only MAGA. Why didn’t he mention the left?

So Kimmel saw a bunch of leftists stating that the Kirk killer was MAGA, and decided it was a fact?

And said America has reached new lows because MAGA was trying to pretend the killer wasn’t one of them?

His bosses asked him to stop. Kimmel declined and was planning on doubling down:

I said upthread, good for him for doubling down. He, and we, knew it was a witch hunt. We even have the receipts from Trump now saying that after Colbert it was Kimmel. Trump doubles down all the time. He's 1000x more violent than Kimmel.

Never give in Kimmel! Don't give into the extortion. I am not cancelling Hulu until tomorrow because I want the pain to keep on.

Trump and the rest have been repeating the lie there there is some secret trans antifa network doing…well, something. Please find the networks that are playing his lies and fine them into bankruptcy.

It's very incriminating that multiple accounts tweeted that Charlie Kirk would have some kind of unpleasant experience on Sept 10. And that one of those accounts followed the shooter's boyfriend.

Being trans doesn't mean that you should not be investigated if you are expressing fore knowledge of a murder. And in some cases those posts have been deleted, which could be obstruction of justice.

The reality is that the shooter was a gay leftist in a relationship with man transitioning into a woman who also identifies as a dog. And that the shooter was heavily engrossed in online leftist/trans/furry discourse. Does it mean that all leftists, trans, and furries are dangerous? No. But they also aren't off the hook if they conspired in a murder, deleted posts relevant to a murder investigation, etc as their posts in the weeks before the murder suggest.

Kash Patel and his FBI fiction writer have entered the chat.

Point out the fiction. Everything I wrote is currently being reported in the press, as weird as it is, and may ultimately be debunked but is currently being reviewed by law enforcement. And don't dismiss the publications- most "credible" news organizations have told us many falsehoods in recent years about the Gunter B!den laptop, Biden’s health, etc ad infinitum. Sadly tabloids are in the same league as our papers of record when it comes to accurate reporting.

Oh, so you'll believe news that fits your narrative. How convenient. We're done here.

Bro, I don't know what to tell you. The shooter was a gay man heavily involved in online leftwing and LGBTQ/Furry communities, and was romantically linked to a man trying to transition to a woman who also identified as a dog. I don't choose these facts, but I also won't deny the objective truth, as far as I know it from virtually every news source. Now you can pretend like Kimmel that this isn't true, but it is. Denying it just makes you look bad.

I think people trying to make this a right wing or left wing thing are missing reality. This was a terminally online young person who grew up in a Mormon red area and had some divergent sexual impulses - possibly because he was online all the time. All his bullet statements are related to video games as well. This kid lived on the internet.

Che didn’t write manifestos about furries. Nor did furries appear in Mein Kampf. That is a very online phenomenon.

Adolescents going through the formative years are so vulnerable to these online silos. I think this kid was messed up by 4chan and porn

The internet is a dangerous place for adolescents. And I suspect that’s going to be the norm going forward - lost children that are terminally online and acting out.

Ultimately, Charlie Kirk was killed by Silicon Valley.

He saw a bunch of MAGA saying "Hey! Not one of ours!" Then on TV he said "MAGA is scrambling to say he's not one of theirs."

Whether or not America has hit new lows is an opinion. Clearly an opinion. And thus not a statement of fact and presumably not actionable since his job is to make observations and provide his opinion.

Where is the proof of any of this? It doesn't exist. It's all 100% based on hearsay. By the very people who held two people before Tyler. We haven't heard anything from the roommate and his mom's claim was in the court documents, which Fox had a broken link to. His grandma said his family was "all MAGA" and his friends said he was "apolitical." Those are the only people who have gone on record.

They don’t care. They are in denial about the shooter being a gay leftist and his involvement with a trans woman.

People like Kimmel- DNC mouthpiece- have long dirtied the water and kept Americans at each other’s throats.

He’s their lying hero.

Is this really this difficult for you?

Given you are making a statement of fact for which there is no direct evidence, maybe your boss ought to fire you too.

If I was at my job telling “jokes” in front of our clients stating the above- like Kimmel did, was asked by his bosses to discontinue doing so, and decided he would ignore them- I probably would get fired.

Kimmel thought that because he is a DNC mouthpiece, he was immune.

Answer me this: why didn’t he joke that neither party wanted to find out the shooter was one of them? Why did he only single out MAGA, especially since both left and right denied he was one of them?

He wasn’t a kid. Many people posting here live on the internet.

Kirk was killed by a gay man in love with a trans woman.

“That is not a lie. That is an accurate observation of what occurred all over the internet.”

NP. Even if Kimmel did go on the air and say something false, SO WHAT?

Trump has been making false statements most of his adult life. The entirety of conservative talk radio and conservative political programs make nonstop false statements. FOX News, OAN, Newsmax, Breitbart, Daily Wire, Blaze, Townhall.com, Redstate, and others have spread NUMEROUS things that were absolutely false. By the logic here, if Kimmel had to go then there shouldn't be a conservative program or outlet standing right now.

Trump got elected because of lies and falsehoods spread online - for example:

"They stole the election!" - false

"Illegals are eating the cats, they're eating the dogs!" - false

"Millions of illegal aliens are voting in US elections!" - false

"Foreign countries will pay us tariffs!" - false - US importers and consumers are the ones who bear the cost of tariffs

"The US has the worst inflation in history under Biden" - false, and meanwhile costs have continued to rise since Trump took office

I think we can all agree that falsehoods are bad, but the lies and falsehoods spread by the right wing have been far worse and far more consequential to America than anything Kimmel did.

I think that if Kimmel can be targeted like this we absolutely have to demand that every conservative outlet spreading lies and falsehoods has to be taken down and anything less is an absolute disgrace and yet more dishonesty by the right wing.
