Or maybe Brave didn’t want to compete with GFR within FVU. Probably not good for Union long term though. |
Not sure if i would agree with the most parents at GFR are happy. Beginning of last year the 2014G top team imploded and many of their top players left due to a coaching switch and a better pathway. This year the entire 2015G top team (minus 1) left for other pathways as well. Both of these teams were at the highest of levels and every club in the area did not fair well against them. Sad that after u10 (on the girls side) it unravels. |
Top team players will always leave GFR for clubs with a pathway. That's always been the case. My 2009 kids team has only a handful of players left from the U10 days because the good players left for other clubs with national leagues. They still compete well at the RL level though. Which kinda proves everyone's point saying that this is an RL club and nothing more. |
They were playing pre-ecnl. That is not a team at the "highest of levels". Lol. |
And they are 8 and 9 lol |
| Our daughter is 10U and we know parents of kids on all 3 10U GFR teams. From what we have seen, most 10U parents are happy. |
Obviously you have no clue of their accomplishments and how easily they dispatched all the top clubs top team in the area at U10. And no they were not playing Pre-ECNL at U10 fool. The 2014s (at U10) won Jefferson cup in the top bracket and finalist in the National Futsal Tournament in Las Vegas. 2015s accolades are too long to list (WAGS, Jeff Cup, rtc) and getting into the top bracket and making into the final 8 in Super Copa does state they are at the highest of levels at that time. |
This is hysterical. Is this parody or real life? I can't tell. |
| They were the most accomplished third graders in the land! |
| Last year's 2015 Blue girls team was extremely good. |
Doesn't have to be the case! Stop with the "local club" propaganda. No one is buying it! BRYC, McLean, Herndon, Vienna, Valor all have pathways and are simliar size club as GFR. They also don't have the mass exodus that GFR does. Those other clubs aren't bigger or better than GFR but they give the best possible opportunities to their kids. The club needs to explain to parents why they didn't join union or pursue other pathways. |
Just saying that GFR has so much more potential than just an RL club. They have continuous shown that they can play and be elite given the opportunity but they always seem to nose drive after U10. Have pride in the badge and the club. Make it the best club it can be rather than settle for what the "tools" and get rid of the money hungry leadership and toxic coaches. |
What do any of those clubs get out of their alliance with FVU? Honestly? |
I was going to say. Is this a joke? If they were playing at GFR at U10 yes, they were playing PRE-ECNL RL. Fool. lol Have they played Arlington, VDA or FVU yet at the same age? Let's see how this "highest level" team is doing in a few years. |
Right? That's what I don't understand. Every club has a pathway to another club if you leave it. Is being "part" of FVU really that different than just leaving GFR and going to FVU? Is a kid who plays for Herndon going to get a better opportunity to play with FVU than a player from GFR who is more talented? I doubt it. |
