As a Democrat, it all feels hopeless.

Quit blaming the American voter. If you want to blame yourself fine; the rest of us aren’t deserving of doom because politicians suck.

NP. The American voter didn't get us Biden as the Democratic candidate in 2024. The Biden campaign and the DNC are responsible for that, and they suck. Biden should have preserved his legacy and done the right thing and announced he wasn't running again, but he didn't do that, and nobody in the DNC challenged that decision.

I remember Biden running as a “transition” candidate in 2020. Now only God Almighty can stop him.

1. Well, who was responsible for killing the bipartisan immigration reform bill?
Trump coaxed the maga nutters into blocking the bill because he needs it for his top campaign issue. He literally didn’t want Biden to get that win! One GOP senator said without Trump, this deal would have had overwhelming support within the conference. “This proposal would have had almost unanimous Republican support if it weren’t for Donald Trump,” the Republican senator said. Lankford, one of your most conservative guys, along with Speaker Johnson, authored the bill! https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/25/politics/gop-senators-angry-trump-immigration-deal/index.html

2. You might want to think before you speak. The number of GOP who’ve been charged with sexual assault of minors is epidemic. Investigations have uncovered some of these creeps have been involved in those trafficking rings. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/2595/751002.page#27765795

Democrats: "Defeating Trump is an existential imperative which we all must take seriously."
Also Democrats: select Biden as their candidate.

Biden will obviously lose in November. Democrats will also lose the Senate and House. Senior Democratic leadership - Schumer, Pelosi, Clyburn, Durbin - will also be gone. Retirements. Age. Pushed out.

The upside is Democrats will now have an entirely clean slate to create a new party with a younger generation of leaders. There is no next in line candidate. There is no leadership waiting in the wings. Democrats are free to create a brand new party. They should take advantage of the their upcoming time in the wilderness.

No, but like H. Ross Perot, a third party candidate can take enough votes from a weak front runner to give the win to the correct candidate (Biden)

RFK is siphoning off voters Biden needs not Trump.

Unclear. He's positioned himself as a Democrat who's frustrated with the Democratic party. Thus, he's both giving opponents of the Democratic party an alternative to voting for Trump and also giving Democrats a non-Biden option.

The 2024 DNC convention should be as star making as the 2004 one . Who will be the next Barack?

Someone young and exciting needs to unite the base because the base is so fractured right now among moderates, centrists, and far left progressives

Less than two years ago Pennsylvania elected a guy who had a severe stroke during the campaign and who subsequently performed so badly in the debates that Biden looked like a master debater in comparison. He won by 5 points.

Don’t trust the polls.

If Biden has another bad debate performance it will be over. Biden needs to stop the focus on the President as one person. The President is a chief executive who surrounds himself with many, many capable people. Biden needs to emphasize the team he has around him. He needs more press coverage of him leading cabinet meetings, speaking to Congressional leaders, etc... he needs to look like he's in charge.

He’s not in charge. He freezes and stares into space. Dana Bash had to keep pointing during the debate off camera so Joe can focus his eyes toward the American public without scaring us to death. It’s sad what’s happening.

That’s why they did the split sceeen and banned a live audience so we wouldn’t be mortified by seeing the President freeze and eyes roll to the back of his head or wander into space

Jill was married to the guy who owned the Stone Balloon Pub in Newark De a very popular venue. She and her husband were both friends and donors to Biden's campaign.

It’s clear from the poll data. Trump is leading in the battleground states. Biden needs those voters, not Trump.

Trump is an American icon and generational phenom. It’s not a fair comparison.
