StJ

I am confused. Saint James isn't just for FCV is it? Who are the coaches there who aren't the FCV coaches if not? Why does the place generate so much talk here.

Partial answer in case this is a serious question.

The St James purchased FCV, a Loudoun based soccer team which no longer has any affiliation with Loudoun soccer. FCV now plays under the name The St James FC Virginia. For now these teams continue to practice in Loudoun county.

FCV continues to be best girls DA (development academy) program in the area. Their twitter feed frequently reminds us of this fact. This tends to draw some negative feedback on this board.

They also have boys teams but not boys DA.

Lol, Loudoun based? Yeah, I guess they have been for quite a few years now, but they've moved around. At one time they were Chantilly based. I think they may have been VISTA once too, practicing in Clifton, or maybe that was just after Cindi Harkes pulled her teams out of BRYC to become "Harks Elite", before joining up with FCV.

Does anyone else remember when they were Fairfax based? Right after the turf fields went in at Draper and Stafford, FCV actually moved all of its teams to FPYC to take advantage. The marriage didn't last though, as FCV pulled the plug when they didn't get all the time and space on those fields they wanted.

The club should call themselves The St James FC Virginia South County as a nod to both the past and future.

Not an FCV parent, but they have been in Loudoun for quite a few years. It is ridiculous to suggest that they are not in Loudoun.

NP. I think the suggestion that they are moving away from Loudoun is completely accurate. Last year there were zero training events at the StJ in Springfield. This year there are, and there will be more, especially during the cold weather months. Ownership changes tend to impact how things are run, despite parents' hopes and wishes. StJ is a business, and the primary business is not youth soccer, it's running a large athletic facility. The bottom line is much more impacted by getting people into the building. The expectation that this will be an active effort on management's part is not only reasonable, it's a likely outcome.

It changed this year. The club was purchased by a gym called The St James in Springfield VA. There is no more FCV, even the black V logo is gone.

Heard The St James had friendlies against Richmond United, didn't see any results on twitter uniforms looking good though. Anyone know how it turned out?

You are insufferable.

Why don’t you just join a DA or a ECNL club and then you might know.
