That pretty much says it. Our babysitter (and daughter of a neighbor) is heading off for her freshman year and we'd like to get her something. But I have no idea what college kids want/need these days (other than just cash, which I'd rather not do.)
Ideas? Thanks!! |
| DD20 fave gift was a set of monogrammed towels from our neighbor family/kids she babysat for. I’d suggest white towels. |
| cash monies |
| Honestly - money. That would be most appreciated. |
why? |
| cash cash cash |
thats some dumb shit right there |
| We did a gift card to JCrew for our beloved babysitter when she went off to college. Every college girl can always use more clothes! |
| Amazon gift card. |
| My DD is going far away for school and has asked for mementos of DC like posters and a DC flag. The towel idea also seems cute for a preppy girl. |
| Cute/fun stuff for a dorm room! I didn't spend any money on frivolous things going into college because I had budget for food for the semester and I LOVED having personal touches to my dorm room from the things my aunts gave me. Just silly little things like Christmas lights with paper lanterns on them and a pretty gauze curtain for the window really made it feel like my space. (Obviously, something that fits this girl's aesthetic which varies a lot!) |
This. The Amazon textbook rentals are great, if she is concerned about that sort of thing, otherwise, Amazon sells pretty much everything and you can't beat the prime shipping. |

Chargers with extra long cords.
I wouldn’t pick out a kids room decor or send white towels to college. Also look up what is close to campus and do gift cards for those places - Starbucks, Dunkin, Chipotle instead of cash. |
| A nice quality T-shirt / sweatshirt / etc ordered from her new university. |
| Condoms and beer |
