| I'm not sure if I will have a c section or vbac. I have ordered adult diapers haha. Should I order large underwear in case I have a vbac or will I be okay? Why not use my maternity underwear? Am I missing something? I'm fine with spending $10 on underwear. Just trying to figure out if I really need them? |
| If you have a c-sect you'll want the mesh special underwear so as not to rub on your scar. |
| I didn't know there was such a thing....I just wore bigger underwear (sometimes even my DH's tighty-whities) that were big enough to go over my c-section staples and cotton, so the material didn't get stuck to the staples like some of the stretchy fabrics can do. |
| You'll just need pads. No diapers, no special underwear. The hospital will give you mesh underwear that accommodate large pads but the bleeding should subside enough by the time you're discharged that you won't need them at home. |
| They gave me plenty of mesh underwear at the hospital. I ended up with more than I needed at home. This was for a vaginal delivery, FWIW. |
| Did not have a csection. I just wore soft, stretchy underwear with a pad. I didn't have a ton of bleeding. |
| Just use what they give you at the hospital. |
OP here.I had a c section. I thought mesh were for vaginal birth. Maybe I'll just try the mesh since I already have them. I can't remember if they gave me any at the hospital after my c section. |
| The hospital-provided mesh ones worked well for me post c-section. |
They were so nice and high waisted that they didn't get near the wound. |
Okay thanks for clearing that up for me! I was so unprepared after my c section. I did not know about belly binder's or mesh underwear. I didn't even have nursing bras! I had to send my husband to Target and he brought back the wrong stuff. This time I want to be prepared for everything. |
| The mesh undies are the best! Amy Schumer did a post on her Instagram about them, and I can relate. Took tons from the hospital and washed them to rewear. Now you can get on Amazon. |
THIS but you will bleed for another month or so, so just get extra pads for home. Light is fine. |
| I think you should just take the mesh and if you decide you want something else later, you can order for delivery. I did end up falling in love with the Gap high waisted breathe underwear after my c-section and that’s still all I wear. |
| I loved the mesh underwear. I did wash them all once (washing twice was too much for those disposable underwear). I loved them so much. What I hated were those NASTY pads that the hospital gives you. Why?! They make such nice, thin pads now that absorb extremely well. What's up with the ginormous pads that don't absorb? Mine were so big i almost waddled. Overnight pads from Target worked 10x better and they actually absorbed. They were like baby diapers from 1960 (before gel beads). |
