High metabolism?

Anonymous
Hi, I’m a woman in early 40s, petite and about 112 pounds. It occurred to me that I eat more than my larger husband. I feel like I am always hungry. Always eating small amounts of sugary carbs. I know this is not healthy. This is how my body and appetite has always been so I don’t think there’s a medical issue. Should I try some sort of low carb diet to ween off of sugar and carbs? Even though I have a very high metabolism (it seems) it can’t be healthy that I’m constantly hungry/eating/tired and dependent on sugar and carbs.

How tall? But i never liiked carbs other than potatoes, i am also often hungry when eating sugar and carbs. That is normal. That is natural cycle of rising your blood sugar with such food. Not high anything, this is normal for everyone.

Too much sugar is bad for you. Carbs aren't.

If you want to not constantly feel hungry, yes, wean off the sugar. Eat slow-digesting carbs like oats and sweet potatoes. Finally, and probably most important, add more protein to your diet.

Yes.
Try to be on Keto.
Very low carb and increase good fat.

You haven't really established how you eat more than your husband besides saying you like eating a candy bar here and there.

Why would you suggest this? Keto is barely tolerable for weight loss.

OP, replace bad sugar with fruit. White carbs with complex carbs. You satisfy your cravings with nutrient dense options. Absolutely don't go fat free, but stick to olive oils, avocados, all the MUFAs.
All of this will take awhile to get used to. But soon, you will go for the better options because you will feel better.

Because, I follow Keto for sustainable energy and no hunger.
My body loves it might work for OP too.

Op here: It’s not just that I eat sugar. But I noticed the other night that I ate more dinner than my husband (we shared a plate), and that was my second dinner! Plus I had more for lunch than him, and a snack mid day that he did not have. And we realized that was a fairly normal occurrence. He is normal weight (not skinny) for a 5’8 frame.

Oh yeah? And how will your colon and heart love it as you age? You trade one set of problems for a more significant set.

+100 Seriously.

Fine, avoid the store bought bread.

But for the love of god eat lentils and peaches. I look at the low-carb insanity like the Snackwells no-fat idiocy in the 90s.

Many skinny people have clogged arteries and need bypass surgery. Many pastries are made with trans-fats. Blood work can't show blocked arteries. You should eat what you think is best for your health, eating so much sugar is not good for you. You know this, but bread is not the evil food that everyone makes it to be. As a smart pp posts here, you do you boo.
