I want to be able to tuck my jeans into my cowboy boots. My bootcut ones are getting all scrunched up.
Before you go attacking my non-stick figure, just answer the question please. Where can I get some jeans that will allow me to do this and not cost a fortune? I am considering just going to American Apparel and buying their denim-looking leggings... |
| I wouldnt recommend skinny jeans if youre not built like a stick. Why not just get some straight leg jeans? |
| because they still bunch up inside my boots. |
| i don't actually want to wear skinny jeans out there alone, like with ballet flats or anything like that. shudders. i just need them to work for me with tall boots. |
| Try gathering the fabric tightly around your leg and folding the extra flat before putting on your boots. |
is this the secret trick i've been missing?? |
Almost. Hockey tape is the rest of the secret. around your ankle. sticks well enough to hold, rips off in a second.

I agree. Wrap whatever pants you want in a diagonal pattern, tightly, and then tape at the bottom. I use duct tape, actually.
|
| If you've got big legs, tucking jeans into boots only makes them look bigger. Like most fashion trends (hello, strapless wedding gowns!), it's not for everyone. |

OP, if they are real cowboy boots, they either come in a tall style (dresses and skirts only) or mid-calf for pants. Should not tuck pants into a mid-calf boot.
If you feel your legs are not as thin as you like, encasing them in visible layers will only make them appear even wider - and shorten you as well. One long line of color that is not broken and ends by sitting on top of the toe box will give you the longest, leanest look possible. Don't necessarily go with the fashion of the moment. Go with what works best for you. |
Try JCREW for skinny jeans that will fit in your boots. I don't have thin legs and these work for me. I do wear a long sweater (wrap style) over my behind in skinny jeans. I am tall, so this works for me. Good luck-- try it out in the store and see what you think. You might be able to pull off black leggings that have some structure to them (i..e a bit more expensive, try Nordstroms or even Zara) with boots too with something over your bottom
|
I don't like the AA idea, think they are not going to be structured enough for your build. Go with the Jcrew jeans or black leggings with some structure in them. |
| I agree with the jcrew rec. Their toothpick jeans are shockingly comfortable and perfect for tucking into boots. I'm not a toothpick, nor was the saleswoman at the store who convinced me to just try them on already. I also wear their matchstick style and am able to tuck them in my boots, too, but not quite as comfortably. |

I wouldn't be wearing cowboy boots this season. Get some knee-hight flat leather boots - or even the over the knee types.

| Not meaning to hijack, but if you don't mind taking a little detour -- what do you all think about the skinny jeans and boots look for someone who's skinny (or at least skinny enough) but short? I love the look on others, but just think it would make me look like a munchkin/ Am I right or should I try it? Any tips on making it work? |
