Skinny jeans for a non skinny person?

If you're short, it is all about creating long, uninterrupted lines to give the optical illusion of appearing taller. If you're wearing a top, pants and boots all in different colors, you've cut yourself into 3 sections.

If you're short and really love the look, do it all in one color - black boots, black jeans and black top for example.

The very best look will be with using just one color top to bottom with booties or shooties instead of the tall boots. And they should have as high a heel as you can do comfortably and have a pointed toe which will elongate the body even more.

How non skinny are we talking? In order to pull off skinny jeans you can't have really thick thighs.

Try the Gap's "always skinny" style. I swore up and down that I'd never wear skinny jeans, but I have two pairs now, and they're very comfortable and pretty flattering--particularly the very dark wash. I'm 5'3" and a size 6, so I'd consider myself normal but far from skinny. I do have butt/hips/thighs, and I think that I look better in my skinny jeans than in my bootcut jeans (again, could never imagine I'd be saying this!). I wear them tucked into boots or (gasp) with flat shoes.

I just bought a pair of Banana Republic "classic skinny" black jeans that are great. I am tall but my very short friend also bought them and they look good on her, too. Work great with my tall boots.
