Microwave drawer

Anyone have it and like it? Easy to use and get used to?

Yes! Love mine.
They are all similar. Sharp makes them all.

Yes have one. Pros are it works well for my kitchen and looks cool
cons are that you have to press a button to open and close which is annoying in the beginning and takes some getting used to.

Love ours. We’ve had it for 2 years now. Went from over the range to a drawer when we renovated. I’m short so I much prefer the drawer.

+1
We have to press the button and tug a bit.
But love it.

Ours is fine. It doesn't rotate, which is the big downside.

Have had one for about 6 years.

Pros:
-fits the space perfectly. We have lots of under counter space, not any good wall space, and I don't like range hood microwaves
-convenient height and works well. Easy for kids to use.

Cons
-much more expensive, I think about 2x from back when I was looking
-less reliable. I had one burn out, thankfully just within the warranty period

I just renovated andi love mine. I don't mind that it doesn't rotate, but I'm not a heavy microwave user, so can't tell what the difference is. Also much easier to keep clean.

I love mine. More space for things on counters and you can stir things like soup etc without taking it out.

Love ours too. Having spent a week at my sister's house where the microwave was in the island and wasn't a drawer reinforced how glad I was that we put one in our island.

have had one for 10 years -- love it, but it shorter so you can't reheat a tall mug or baby bottle.

Hate it. I cannot tell you how much I hate it. We are renovating in 6 months and it was the first thing on my list to discuss with our designer when we met.

They are a PITA to clean, especially the top. I have had to replace 2. My older sons are tall (6'3" and 6'2") and they hate having to squat down to program the darn thing. I am putting in a microwave that will slide in and it will be at my eye level in its own part of the custom cabinet.

Mine is like this. You try getting your arm in to clean the walls and top. We bought another one that we use and we put it on the counter until the reno.

My DH is 6'7" and doesn't squat down to program it. The controls are practically counter level.

Also, who doesn't use a splatter guard in a microwave?

Same here. Our controls flip out. They are facing up, maybe one inch below the counter top. If her kids have to squat down, then the also have to squat down to reach the counter.

I'm with the first poster. We hate ours for the very same reasons. We actually have the Wolf that she's linked to. Different strokes for different folks I guess. In any event, we too hate it and have installed another one in our pantry that we use. BTW they do still need to be cleaned even if you use a splatter guard.
