Everything is ruined. She didn't even apologize, just said she's used bleach before and it was fine. I've told her before not to do my kid's laundry since I do it at the end of the week with everyone else's. Ughhhhh. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh. |
I’m sorry OP. My nanny threw DHs work clothes in the washing machine and ruined them (dry clean only). I let her go of course. She just didn’t get why. |
Did your child need clean clothing and she couldn’t wait until the end of the week when you got around to it? |
Maybe have nannies just do childcare and not laundry, vacuum, run the dishwasher, etc.
|
She specifically asked the nanny not to do laundry. I would let her go. If she isn't following that request I bet there are other things |
If she didn’t apologize then she’s a jerk, nanny or otherwise. Find someone new who follows instructions. |
+1 coupled with the non-apology this indicates bigger problems |
What nanny takes it upon herself to do laundry without good reason? Poor child likely had no clean appropriate clothing. That would frustrate me if I was expected to take a child to playgroups or the park in dirty or weather inappropriate clothing. |
Did our ask her why she washed your child’s clothes?
There is more to OP’s story than meets the eye! No one would wash clothes for fun. My guess is the child didn’t have clean clothes to wear. |
Why was your nanny doing your husband’s laundry? How did she even see his dirty clothes? |
I would never use bleach and in fact I hate using bleach and I myself don’t use it. Sinmply because yes it can ruin EVERYTHING. I use oxiclean for my white cotton sheets |
Sounds to me like she was trying to clean up something she didn't want you to find out about. Vomit? Blood? |
Wow. Your mind works in mysterious ways. |
Probably her previous family used color-safe bleach, and since she can't speak/read English, she didn't realize this wasn't color-safe. Dock her pay for the cost of the laundry. |
Exactly. Wash your own clothes. |
