Ugh. I was in a metro station where there was a panic caused by firecrackers being lit at rush hour. It was really scary and someone could have gotten hurt - those kids should definitely be punished appropriately.

What a bunch of idiots. Those fountains are legal in Virginia so they probably bought them there. They’re fun but come on, these people are only a few feet away. You need to stand back really far and they release a massive amount of smoke (as seen by the end) and since they’re doing this indoors it can get out. This is extremely dangerous.

If Metro doesn’t figure out how to deal with teens misbehaving, their ridership is going to continue to slide. And then all of the people who complain about how these teens are being harassed are going to be left without a public transit option.

Why can’t metro police be allowed to do their jobs without lawsuits?

This happened at the Bloomingdales plaza one night. It was a big firework, the kind that fan out. I could have been seriously injured. I saw the two kids that did it. One had an orange back pack and the other shaved bottom half of head longer on top.

They also travel in packs and will shove you down the escalators and trample you as they scream their heads off. I texted metro transit and they did not respond.
