| It would be with a parent I know fairly well and he would have 4 kids with him. I feel a little uncomfortable, but everyone else seems fine with it. This is my oldest kid and I can't figure out if I'm just being overprotective and how others feel. This is a rising 5th grader, and the trip is to Kings Dominion. |
| Is it a group of 4 10-year olds who will stay together? Or two different age groups who might separate? One group I think is fine. If there are younger siblings I would be more uncomfortable. |
| Definitely. Can your 10 year old be trusted to stay with the adult? Know what to do if they get separated? Knows not to go off with someone else? This wouldn't bother me at all. I give mine an extra phone we have for cases like this. |
| Yes. I would. I thought you meant without a parent and I thought... idk, probably not. But with a parent.... definitely. |
| write the parent's phone number on his hand with a sharpie. |
| Yes. The most important rule is that they always have a buddy and never leave anyone else alone. Oh, and have fun! |
| Six flags no, but probably a smaller park in new England. |
| Yes. At a much younger age I was letting my kids go with their summer camp. |
|
I would if I trusted the other parent.
I almost sent mine the same age on a youth group trip but it ended not being a good date for us. |
| My 10 year old went to Hershey Park on a band trip in June and went around the park with 3 other kids and a chaperone, so the same size group. It was fine and they had a blast. They never went anywhere without a buddy and they had a plan and designated meeting place in case they got separated. |
| I have a 10 year old and it wouldn't even occur to me to say no to this. 100% fine. |
Try harder. We know what you're saying. |
| Sure - I've done it. It was even to Six Flags. (The horror! Call CPS!) |
Terrible idea. |
