Olympiacos GotSoccer Accounts

Anonymous
New to the area and I'm trying to research competitiveness of this club and I can only find one GotSoccer account which is for their U14 which I'm not interested in. Do GotSoccer accounts exist for their younger age groups and I'm not looking in the right place? Or maybe their younger teams don't play in tournaments or scored contests?

Got soccer accounts are usually created for tournament reasons. I'm not sure there is another need. The rankings are arbitrary a bit. If you play in a lot of tourneys, and do well, you'll rank higher.

Research the coaches, licenses, history of where they coached, watch some sessions talk to parents staying and leaving if you can find them.

This feels like a troll

I agree with this poster. ... And this won't help, as Olympiacos only had one team last year.

This sight is more realistic in their rankings: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/rankings/VA/14/Boys/

That site is not appreciably better.

Which site would you recommend?

Frankly it is like trying to rank College Teams. All readers will acknowledge that Penn State is perennially number 1, but alas none of the rankings show that truth!!

I do not think that YouthSoccer is predictive....but I do think that it fairly ranks teams given the available information. No site out there can take into account "Is the top player injured?" or "Did the lower ranked team bring in a ringer guest player for this game?" .... But if better is not to be the enemy of good enough, I'd say YouthSoccer meets that criteria.

For real, is there other ranking sites to stir trouble with?

Thank you! OP here, I did not realize they are a new club and only had one team last year which explains the lack of accounts in the rankings. I think we're leaning toward BRYC or SYC since they are also nearby to where we moved and have more of a foundation in place.

Olympiacos is formerly Cougars so they have been around about 4 years I think. They had more than 1 team last year. This is the one that participated in tournaments. The other teams 4 or so just played in ODSL. I have been told that next year, all of their teams will play NCSL. It's also possible that they may have more this year if they were able to get players from any fall out from VIVA but not sure on that end.
