I'm just a regular old voting democrat and I think he needs to resign. You cannot be a leader with this in your past. He's not entitled to this power, but similar to Kavanaugh, is irate at the idea he may not get to keep it based on his past. There's no downside to him resigning, we still get democrat Fairfax as governor. There's literally no benefit to keeping Northam for anyone but Northam.

Would agree with you except all of his actions since the photo surfaced have revealed him to be a dishonest liar......and a shockingly stupid one at that. When you have something like this in your past and your sole plan for dealing with it is to hope that it doesn’t come up because it happened a long time ago...this is what happens. He shouldn’t have run for governor without assessing what types of skeletons he has in his closet and making a plan for how to deal with them if they become public issues. That Covington high school kid’s parents hired a PR firm right away and made sure the kid was coached before granting interviews. Northam couldn’t do the same before holding a press conference? He had to be told by his wife that he shouldn’t moonwalk at a press conference where he’s trying to convince people that he’s not racist and has just admitted that he used blackface to pretend to be Michael Jackson? He’s so spectacularly lacking in political acumen that he blurts out that his wife says it’s inappropriate to moonwalk then and there? The only good judgment he has shown is in marrying a woman with far more sense than he has. He needs to go because he is racist in ways that he doesn’t even understand are racist. It’s so deeply ingrained in him that he can’t see it. But he also needs to go because he seems so incompetent it’s laughable. Who still respects this man the same way they did when they voted for him?
