| Meh |
| The girl is so irritating. I watched for a mn and couldn’t bear her. |
|
Long story short 4.8, 1580
AP: 2 soph, 2 jr, 4 or 5 senior year Nothing otherwise remarkable. Rythmic Gymnastics but not anything remarkable there either. |
|
Pretty much what I expected. Your awards need the word ‘national’ in them. Your academics need to be accelerated. Your grades and test scores need to reflect near perfection. And your background needs to reflect diverse interests.
Nothing shocking. |
National champion in rhythmic gymnastics. National merit finalist. I’d say she was remarkable. |
| show me the video of "how i graduated with a high GPA from MIT" then i will watch. |
+1 |
Other than rhythmic gymnastics, my kid's stats/EC much more impressive. |
|
Other than being a NATIONAL champion, your kid is similar...
Sounds smart though |
MIT grad here with 2 degrees and near perfect GPA. Boring show. Lots of homework and studying. Multiple all nighters. Drugs on weekends and some booze to let off steam. |
so that was her hook then. |
I meant to type nothing else remarkable. It was actually a compliment. You don't have to have your mom create a foundation and pretend you did it. They (MIT) just want smart kids. Some schools are like that. MIT is known for not taking hooked kids. |
By hooked, if you mean "LEGACY", you are correct. |
I mean legacy, athletes, great oboe players. MIT wants kids with good scores. Period. Every school has a different mission. I don't fault some schools for only caring about scores nor do I fault schools that want good sports programs. To each his/her own. |
