I think the ultrasound tech was drunk when she did my anatomy scan today

I didn't say anything but I really think I smelled alcohol on her. The doctor was in the room us for a few minutes. Surely the doctor would smell the alcohol too, right? She also seemed a bit strange. My husband thinks I should say something about it because he think my ultrasound could have been done wrong? She seemed to know what she was doing. She did mention recently splitting from her ex husband. She also asked for permission to take a personal call. I didn't think anything about it but she thanked me and said she could get fired for something like that.

Sounds like she was going through a tough time and could use the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure if she were drunk someone else will take care of it.

OP here. How am I supposed to know? I do not have training in reading ultrasounds. She also was surprised I didn't know the gender. I am only 18 weeks and this was my first ultrasound. She said I am surprised because most woman know by now. It doesn't make sense. Also she kept asking me questions to try to figure out why my first baby was premature. She would give me confused looks when I responded. Some babies are premature. I told her when he was born and that my water broke. I don't know what other information I could have given her. There were way too many weird things that happened.

OP here. She also went to get me candy because she said it may help the baby move. She came back 5 minutes later and said she forgot the candy. I am usually very very laid back but there was so much weirdness going on.

I don’t find the questions weird, she was looking for clues on what to zero in on with the fetus. Ie. placental issue first time, she would spend extra time for that. Or a chromosome issue, she would take extra time to check for certain things.

OP here. My husband wasn't there. I thought his reaction was a little dramatic. I really don't want to say anything but I wanted to get advice on here. I am supposed to come for cervix checks every 2 weeks with the same tech. Maybe she's just very nutty and I smelled something else. I just remember getting closer to her and smelling although. Later on I thought about what we talked about and her reactions seemed a bit strange.

OP here. That makes sense I guess but there was really no issues I knew about with my pregnancy. I don't think I am being dramatic. Being drunk on the job is a very serious thing. I could smell alcohol and her behavior was weird. Those things usually go together.
