New Arlington Logo

As an Arlington parent who has sometimes felt the need the defend the club in this forum from what I felt were unfair attacks on coaching style, organization, management, etc., I find myself wearing a very different hat tonight. I would love all of you to mock mercilessly what is easily one of the stupidest decisions Arlington has ever made, replacing a perfectly adequate logo that represented Arlington (with a portion of the county seal enclosed within a red A) with new logo that is very dated and very unattractive. http://www.arlingtonsoccer.com/news-and-events/news/arlington-soccer-unveils-updated-logo

Arlington Soccer is now the undisputed king of DC metro soccer in at least one category: most hideous logo....

I think you are just used to the old one. It's not that great either. I don't really care for either but they are quite similar. I think the new one does a much better job with the font sizes and is much more professional looking.

That said, the OP has put a dent in the reputation of Arlington parents who take themselves too seriously. He/she definitely deserves a tip of the cap.

Yes parents concerned about the logo of a club

Makes sense to get rid of the County seal since they aren’t a County Club. They heavily serve kids from DC, MD, Prince William and Fairfax counties after U12. At least this shows they recognize that.

Arlington should form another Club who has a more community-based focus since at 10,000 players it is way too big to adequately provide the needs and individual attention of players.

Not a fan of Arl, but oddly like this new logo. It’s very retro, just like my 1970s-style New Balance sneakers.

Exactly. Go for "new and modern" and end up with out-of-date except for nostalgia factor.

Why didn't they ask the population that would be wearing it? I had a carpool of Arlington players last night and every single one of them laughed at as a joke until they realized they were going to have to wear it....
