My baby turned 18 today

It’s such a bittersweet moment. She’s 18, graduating, and heading off to college soon. I’m not ready! I want my little girl back! Sorry, I just needed somewhere to get this out.

I feel you. I know I will have a difficult time dealing with this in a couple of years. I get emotional just thinking about it.

Awww! It is bittersweet, watching our babies grow in to adults. I know that's the goal, but...

I'm not a nostalgic person by nature but just yesterday I was looking of some photos of my 11th grader when he started HS. He was tiny (slow to start puberty) next to me and anxious about starting a new school. Now at the end of his junior year, he's can rest his chin on my head and about to be a senior, with sometimes *too* much confidence about school. I can't imagine what it will be like dropping this kid off at college in a bit over a year, the little guy who I couldn't peel off me when he started preschool!

Best wishes to your DD!

Waah! I won't be able to handle it well when I get to that point, OP. We raise our kids so they can leave us, it's terrible.

Hugs to you and happy birthday to her.

Awwww. I am already sad thinking about this day and DD is 3!

I will need to go out and get a puppy the day she leaves home to help myself cope haha.

It is bittersweet. Congrats, Mom! I've got a 19-year-old college sophomore and an 8th grader. One down, one to go.

Right there with you. My DD will be 18 soon and graduating, ready to fly the nest. Have a riding 8th grader at home and she is even feeling it. Exciting changes ahead but already know we will miss having her in our daily lives so much. Hugs!

Mine is 12,5 and I'm counting down the days. Great kid, but time to go.

Mine is 14 and heading to High School. Hitting me that he will be leaving home in 4 years. Will be really bittersweet. Such a nice kid now; he'll be a nice adult too.

I can totally relate! Congratulations!

Thanks everyone! I know this day would come, but it definitely happened too fast! It feels like yesterday she was starting kindergarten!
