How do you go outside... and not smell like outside?

Anonymous
This is the time of year where I feel like I stink all the time, after spending more than 5 minutes outside. And I'm outside a lot, due to living in a highly walkable area. I shower daily (often 2x a day in the summer_ wear deodorant, exercise regularly, but I just feel like that "outside" smell just gets on my skin, hair, and clothes like a magnet.

Do you notice this on others? How do you control it?

What is the "outside" smell?

I like how outside smells? Fresh air is not a bad odor to me.

Definitely know what you’re talking about but no idea what to do about it other than walk slow and don’t sweat

Outside smells good.

Yes I notice it on myself and others. No clue how to prevent it.

Outdoor smell is fresh and clean and free of any chemicals and deodorants. It is wonderful that while you are outside, the air and the sun can take out and remove all the smelly pollutant out of you.

Outdoor rocks!
Many companies are trying to imitate the smell of outside. Hang your sheets outside for the sunny day and take them in.. the fresh clean smell is amazing.

There are things outside that may smell nice, but the "outside smell" you pick up, is not a nice smell. It's like a mix of cut grass, pennies, pollen spores, and dirt. If it's above 70 degrees, I will get that smell on me after just a few minutes outside, whether or not I sweat. It's an air contact thing.

Easy peasy. This should do the trick. Wear this outside to protect the outdoor air from pollution by your deodorants and perfumes.

"Outside" smell? WTF? Is this what we've come to - people spend so little time outside they think it causes an "outside" smell?

I spend tons of time outside and notice the smell, and it is not pleasant. I wonder if this is a different sense of smell thing? Like the asparagus pee gene? Some people just don't notice it?

Other people notice the funky outside smell immediately. And it can be prominent.

Where do you live that outside smells so awful? I want to avoid that if at all possible.

Yes! I always smell this on people. It isn’t a bad smell per se, but I definitely notice it. I don’t think it can be avoided.

It smells like metal.
