| Is anyone watching this? I just finished the season, want to discuss it... |
| It's on my list, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'll check back in here later. |
same starting it this evening Daughter and I just finished The OA. loved it! hoping Society is good, too |
| Haven't yet, but I just looked it up and will because of this thread. I liked Sean Berdy a lot in Switched at Birth. |
|
Liked the feminist empowerment aspect and the deaf guy.
Couldn't STAND the lord of the flies aspect. And the reason why and/or how it happened was flimsy at best. The Master of the Universe can cut off an entire town and throw them in a parallel universe but he's begging hand to mouth for $1 million dollars? Yeah...no. |

Just started watching this and have some questions. Only high schoolers are left? What about younger kids? So convenient that none of the high schoolers have younger siblings.
Why does the one popular dark-haired guy hate Cassandra so much? Is he jealous of her? |
He and Cassandra were going for the senior class president spot, right? Campbell is grossing me out. I loved Toby Wallace in Boys in the Trees, but he's so skeevy in this show. Is Grizz gay? My daughter called it after he left the bros to sit with Sam. We haven't seen the entire season yet, but I don't care. I hope Allie takes care of her UTI . . . |
| I enjoyed it. I love the way the show female leadership in the show. |
Because only the high school kids were on the field trip. They are the only ones that exist wherever they are. There were other kids but they disapeared with the adults |

I don’t know all their names yet, but the girl who is best friends with the deaf boy - is she actually pregnant and who is the father?
Why do the kids have to all move in with one another? I understand rationing food, but didn’t see the point of living in crowded houses together. This show was a lot more sexual than I thought it would be. My 14 yo daughter has been watching and I thought it was just typical teen fare - much more mature than I prefer. Especially that discussion between the partying guys about what they would “do” to Cassandra. Wow. |

Yes. She never said but the inference was a traumatic experience. Maybe rape, maybe a trusted authority - stepfather/father/counselor. Why do the kids have to all move in with one another? I understand rationing food, but didn’t see the point of living in crowded houses together. I guess so that one person doesn't end up alone and dead and no one knows why. Plus it made it a more 'equitable' society. The mayor's kid doesn't just get to inherit a 6-bedroom mansion for kicks anymore. This show was a lot more sexual than I thought it would be. Especially that discussion between the partying guys about what they would “do” to Cassandra. Wow. Well, I always got a CW vibe from it - so I expected sex. Was kind of hoping for less domestic violence and more stuff that told me how the forest sprung up around them -- what's out there. |
| I’m halfway through the season. Feel bad for thinking Harry is hot bc I’m prob 10 years older than him in real life. |
echoing the other PP who responded I thought the same about the pregnancy - a rape from someone familiar to her perhaps. equity regarding the moves - But it's also a way to keep track of more people and to ensure that, imo, not all of the homes are destroyed. I keep asking my 15 yo daughter how in the hell they are cleaning their homes! That freak, Campell, is the only one with an orderly home. lol yes- sex . . .ugh . . . lots of it - So we must FF through the scenes, as so many are unnecessary. lol - https://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1130352/The-Society-backlash-sex-Campbell-Allie-season-2-Netflix-video The Society Netflix: ‘Too much’ Fans in UPROAR at sex scenes overload
We don't love it, but now that we're halfway through, we have to finish it. The acting isn't all that great, and the need to push some of the politically hot topics into the script is so stupid. the shooter and his reasons? We both cracked up during that scene, and it wasn't supposed to be funny of course. Grizz, Gordie, Sam and pregnant girl are our favorites. |

RE this quote I I find that amusing - "“I just started watching The Society on Netflix. If this is young adult, damn. Those teenagers are having more sex then most adults.”"
Guess those people never watched Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars or 90210? |
| Skimmed above. Just finished ep 2 and am into it. |
