2019 Land Rover Discovery

How do we like it?

We don't.

We do! Very much so!

What not to love?

I think Chevy Chase are and McLean are already full of them but Bethesda could squeeze in few more.

Like Velar that nobody squashed on the roof. Tons of headroom.

Great truck but Land Rover service is pretty bad. And expensive.

I was thinking of leasing one since it seems like they start to break down after/around the time warranty is up. They have pretty attractive lease rates right now for the discovery sport.

Anyone buy or lease one and regret it?

+1

We owned a brand new 2007 LR3. Beast of a machine but chewed up tires and brakes like none other! Mechanically sound. Had a water pump go out once and mostly control arm bushings (heavy vehicle) over 7 year 90K ownership. Sold it before extended warranty expired. Cost of ownership added up quicky. But man was the LR3 fun to drive in the snow! Chewed it up and spit it out!

I have one of the v8 lr4’s and if I didn’t have a good, reasonable independent mechanic I wouldn’t still have it.

With the dealers, it’s as if the purchase price is a teaser rate - the fun begins with laughable brake pad replacements etc etc.

I don't think their service is bad, and it's free if it's under warranty. Never buy a Range Rover.

Did anyone have issues during the first 3 years of owning/leasing?

I've been leasing Mercedes for years and the only thing I've ever had to do except for annual service was change a flat tire.

If you buy a MB as a new one, and do regular maintenance visits then the only thing is left is occasional bulb or tire as needed.

Right, wondering about the Land Rover Discovery though.

Really, I have to get new tires every 2 years like clockwork, and I drive less than 10k a year?

Are they run flats? I get anywhere between about 9,000-15,000 miles on my 2 cars with run flats. Front tire wear is worse than rear.

The lr4 chews through tires; on fourth set at 70k miles. This is even with rotation -

The oem brake pad are awful and once you switch that problem attenuates.
