We live in Washington state but DD wants to attend college on the east coast. We are fine with that as DH and I have family from FL to MA.
DD is a shy kid who wants a big and/or urban school. So are we've visited BU, Umass, NYU and Columbia. These are schools DD suggested. Her stats most likely won't get her into any but maybe Umass. We would most likely be a full pay family which I hear earns some points. Due to injuries, she can't pay sports, but being able to be a team manager is important. SHe like wrestling and track. SHe had a shaky 9th grade with a 3.2 GPA but all honors classes. She switched high schools and her overall GPA is now 3.7uw and 4.2w. She'll have 5 AP classes and 9-10 honors classes. Most recent SAT score was 1340. She wants to major in sports management or sports data analytics. I know Syracuse has a data program and she'll look there this fall. What other school could she consider east of the Mississippi. |

How about Drexel?
|
| University of Miami. |
|
Rutgers
Clemson Alabama USC I think with those scores/GPA you need to look south, which is going to have the bigger sports schools anyway. |

Temple
Rutgers Fordham (Manhattan or Bronx campus) Boston College |
|
Case Western Reserve
Loyola Chicago Univ of Pittsburgh |
| UMass Amherst is not urban at all. What about Pitt (not east coast but urban and big? |
| Pitt? |
BC is not urban. |
None are East Coast. |
| My very first thought when reading your post was Ohio State. Not exactly east coast, but certainly east of the Mississippi. She can also look at Rutgers, NC State, and Florida State. |
She looked at Umass because it has a sports management major and it was big. Because the campus was so spread out, I didn;t get much of a campus feel, though. |
Pitt is east coast. Doesn’t need to be on the coast itself. Geez. |
She said big OR urban. And BC is pretty urban anyway, it's not like it's in a rural location. However it's pretty competitive from an admissions standpoint and a 1340 SAT is at the 25th percentile. |
You are not familiar and have not visited BC? It is on the large side, but urban it is not. |
