I have never seen one of those ads so I have no idea of their source. What type of browser do you use? I might be able to tell you how to find out the network that provides the ads. Also, the ads should have a blue triangle in the corner that should provide some information about the source of the ad and provide a way to turn it off.

I use several ad networks. I can't turn off an ad unless I know what network provides it.

In Chrome, if you see the ad, right click or control click to get a pop-up menu and choose "Inspect". This should show you a bunch of HTML and Javascript. Hover your mouse over the code and the ad should highlight when you are over the code that loads it. That should bet a "div". See if you can copy and paste that code here. More code is better than less code.

if you are seeing those ads then you clicked/searched something related.

given data mining and algorithms the "something related" could be virtually anything.

100%. They are based on your history.

Pretty sure it’s not bc OP was searching for James Madison.

Given how often affairs are discussed in our Relationship forum, simply reading that forum might trigger these ads.

But, having seen the ad posted above, I'm not so sure that it is inappropriate.

Agree. I’ve gotten them and haven’t clicked on anything, but I am an avid reader of Relationships. I keep thinking they’re bra ads, because I get those too .

I'm not looking for an affair so these ads are not relevant to me. Wish you took more control over what content showed up on your site

and how is this not inappropriate to you? the whole site is about finding a way to cheat on your husband or wife

It's just an ad. It's content is not explicit or anything. If you are not interested, don't click on it.
