I provided instructions explaining how you could assist me so that could block the ad. Those instructions did not include posting a copy of the ad here -- something that provides no help at all. Providing those instructions which -- if you actually followed them -- would allow me to block the ad which is actually my attempt to control what is showing up on my site. But, you don't appear interested in helping so there is not really anything I can do. |
Yes, I can click on the ad to block it. My point is that it should not be up to the users to have to censor sex site ads that come up. Do the Washington Post and NY times sell ads to sex sites? No. I thought your site for discussion of family/children/school issues would have similar policies |
| and thank you for the instructions |
I don’t sell ads to sex sites. I partner with ad networks who sell ads. I can’t block an ad unless I know from which ad network it comes. At this time, I do not know which ad network is providing the ad. |
NP, I got the ad too but I am on my work computer and wouldn't have done anything that would have led to this. At least not explicitly. Now that I know what information Jeff needs, I'll make sure to provide it. Thank for being responsive, Jeff. |
I clicked the triangle and the ad is coming from google https://adssettings.google.com/whythisad?... says This ad is based on: Google's estimation of your interests Your age group

+1 Naughty OP. |
So hot! OP is such a prude. Maybe she is an old hen? Or maybe Mike Pence is on dcum? |
We get ads from both Google Adsense and Google Ad Manager. Neither one says that it is providing the ad. They both have an image search service which I also used and neither found either of the ads that you posted. So, I still can't block them. How did you get the URLs of the ads you posted? Are those the URLs of the ads that you saw? Also, do you know what the click-through link was? Ironically, all of these posts about Ashley Madison are going to convince the ad networks that we all have a deep interest in Ashley Madison and all of use reading this thread will probably get more such ads (though I haven't gotten any myself so far). |
|
I copied the image address of the ads to post them here - those are the URLs of the images
I think I clicked through once by accident and it did go to the ashley madison website |
One more question. On what part of the page are these ads appearing? Obviously they are on the sides. Most pages have one ad on the left side and two on the right. Some pages have two on the left and three on the right. Is there any chance that these ads only appear in the lowest slot and never on the higher slots? They may be coming from a network that uses Google DFP which I also use. |
|
I have seen them on both the left and right side and I have seen 2 of them on top of each other, but I think when they show up they always are at leaston the bottom
Here is an example of a click through link https://www.ashleymadison.com/mail/?ac=17144&keywords=Default_ADX_Sept18&dclid=CL30gurOvuICFQmryAod2a0AIA |
| bottom of the sides I mean |

I've put a block for the click through URL in Google DFP. I'm not confident that it will work, but it's worth a try.

| Thanks a bunch |
