Used wrong license plate with the parkmobile app and got a ticket

Anonymous
Anyone done this and successfully contested it? I have the email that I paid for parking but under a different license plate (my husband’s car). Thx

I don’t think you should not be held liable for the ticket. Your car was parked illegally.

Really? I used the app and paid for parking. I just missed the drop down menu to add another plate. If I had used coins it wouldn’t have mattered

But you didn’t. Consider this a lesson learned.

You paid for DH's car to park there, then you parked your car there instead. Your fault.

You can always contest the ticket, write a letter explaining what happened and wait to hear back. If they say nothing to be done then pay the ticket.

OP, pay attention next time and pay the parking ticket.

Second this.

Most of these responses are unnecessarily mean. i see kinder responses to people who need dcum help after speeding or driving in HOV illegally.

I like 20:50's response. But if the ticket doesn't cost that much, it's probably easier just to pay it.

I did this last year, on Feb. 15, 2018 to be exact and contested explaining what happened and they did not waive it. I got the notice telling me I had to pay it two weeks ago.

I contested this in NJ last summer and the county dismissed the ticket (Cape May County). I had proof from ParkMobile that I paid, but I don’t recall it saying anything about the license plate #.

I made the same mistake in Arlington when we got a new car. I paid the ticket and considered it my mistake

+1. No harm in trying.

I hate those apps. Let me just put 50 cents in a damn meter. The time my phone died and I had to wait about 3 days for my new one to come in? I got a ticket. I had plenty of money to pay a parking meter I just didn't have a smart phone. SO ridiculous to assume everyone parking their car has a smart phone (and a credit card, for that matter). It's blatantly discriminatory towards people who can't afford a smart phone or who aren't able to carry credit.

What exactly is “unnecessarily mean?” I just see straightforward answers.
