There's an Original Pancake House in Rockville on the Pike near Target - I've never been to that one but their place in Bethesda is AMAZING.

Last time I was in the neighborhood and ran by Parkway Deli to get coffee, people seemed to be enjoying breakfast at a place a few doors down. What is it called - something like Red Dog Cafe?

I prefer eggs benny kinds of breakfasts and the place has made me sick more than once. Plus, it feels dirty and sticky in there and is claustrophobic. I just think it is gross.

I'm the one who questioned your use of 'yuck'. I agree with your reasoning. I guess it depends on the mood you're in.

The original pancake house in Rockville is overpriced and busy. There's a Silver Diner in front of Mid-Pike Plaza that's decent.
Try Mosaic (Congressional Plaza) which has a full breakfast menu, but specializes in homemade Belgian waffles which are excellent.

True. My husband always wants to go there if he is has hangover! And I always have to beg him for someplace else. Our 1 year old (now 5) did love that pickle bar though! Yuck!

Parkway Diner is definitely an aquired taste-if you grow someplace like Philly or NY these traditional type delis are fairly ubiquitious-but here, not so much. Parkway has really good whitefish salad, awesome Matzoh Ball soup and has a real deli feel to it-I have had some great meals there. No it is probably not the most cleanly looking of eateries, but I think it's been there for like 30 years or something (not sure if that's good or bad).

Sorry, meant Parkway Deli-but you probably knew that, didn't you?

what about addie's on rockville pike?

i love original pancake house. i think they put crack in their pancakes. their corned beef hash is also the best. because it's clearly not from a can.
