| is this team considered a strong development environment ? is there a progression |
| Great Falls has a proud tradition of girls coaches who are yellers |
what does "GFR 09 girls playing at 08" have to do with the above? |
| when has great falls ever been considered a "strong developmental environment" |
| My DD team played them and they are very good. Girls are athletic and well trained. However, the coach screamed at them constantly. And not in an encouraging way. It was truly horrifying. I've never seen a coach scream at little girls like that. She should be coaching a high school boys team not 9 year old girls. Recommend the team if you want to win at all costs and don't mind if your kid quits soccer after a few seasons and ends up in therapy. |

I was trying to ask if anyone familiar with that team had any observation as to the ndovidual players development
What little I know seems that it is a very Team and results oriented approach geared with success measured by winning As that measurement does not exclude individual development , and could be a result of it, I wanted to know more if anyone had observations. I am always concerned about team approach suppressing appropriate development of individual flair and brilliance. Especially at early stages. Not aCriticism of coaching, it is a hard balance. So to better ask: do players on this team develop individually very well to take on other players and create space - (other than by passing)? Yelling about what exactly ? Coaching what to do in game or aboutmistakes? |
They are result oriented. Their kids are skilled but get yelled out if they make mistakes during the game. If you are looking for a club to develop your child, I would not go there. |
|
Yelling about both mistakes and what they should be doing. There were a few girls crying during the game and they were winning by 8 goals. I've never seen anything so crazy at a youth soccer game.
Also the parents were crazy too. Up by 8 goals and they were screaming at the girls to score. And when they did they cheered so loudly you would have thought they were behind. It could be they were trying to yell positives because the coach is so horrible. I've seen this team play 3 times and the coach is always the same and at least one girl cries each game so it isn't that she was just having a bad day. |
Fake news |
| I have reffed this team several times the coach is definitely a screamer with no real instruction. She has 2 really skilled players who dribble through everyone. This won't last past U11. |
They also won't likely have the same coach past U12 as they migrate to DA anyways. |
| If they have the same coach until U12 I bet 50% of these girls will quit or move elsewhere |
| The coaches are insulting to both teams. PP is correct about winning by 8 goals and still have kids crying on their team. |
Well, the WSVA hater needs to legitimize their views that GFR is a crap pipeline, so it only makes sense that they try to trash GFR here. There are some very good young players in the GFR system, so the hope is that they move onto the DA as they grow, it's a way to change coaches and a future strength for WS. Everyone wins. Except for the WS troll. |
This is not trolling a whole club this is talking about one specific team and whether that coach develops her players. All clubs have a couple good players. This coach teaches kick ball and public berating of children. Now you can continue your undying support of all things WSVA. |
