Thanks for continuing to make the point. Can't wait for you to share how much they are paying you for your diligence in posting. Truly amazing! |
Let me refer to a quote from earlier in this thread:
|
| I find this thread amusing as people are just blindly attacking and defending. I personally hope WS succeeds both in MD and VA. MD they seem to be gaining some traction and I can definitely see improvement from the older VA teams. I wish the VA pipeline was different but it's not. GF and Reston are not proven on the girls side period. Reston was ok for awhile but GF has always had poor quality teams. This is not slamming on a club just the facts. I hope someone is going to improve GFR so that it will help WS. |
Glad you are amused. People aren't defending, just observing. Pretty apparent what is going on with regard to the constant attacks on WS. |

Thanks for constructive comments.
I was really asking if individual flair is accepted/promoted/suppressed as part of this team. I should not have asked about yelling in this forum and maybe should not have asked about a specific team given the response. |
|
This has nothing to do with spirit. It is a U10 team.... one of the great Falls girls coaches who was driven out a year or two ago for too much yelling and bad behavior recruited kids at U7 and U8 to form this team when she was also assignes to coach the Ulittles.this was supposed to be her team but she got booted from the club.
I belIive some players were originally from sterling or from other clubs, not even great falls. Ironically the coach who replaced her has the same approach |
|
We’ve played them...but our team is U10 though. FYI, Severna Park of MD beat them handily at Jeff Cup in the Second Tier. They are a good team for a mid level club.
/thread. |
I think the merger probably helped this club immensely, especially at younger ages, in essentially doubling the talent pool available for each top team. The 2009 boys Napoli team is quite good and the merger attracted some talent from other clubs as well. |
Definitely. The Girls 08 team has only 3-4 girls who were previously on the GF top team. The rest came from CYA (where coach came from) and a mix of other area clubs. Maybe 1 from Reston. |
| I have been very impressed with the 2009 boys as well. |
| How are their 2010 boys? Do they have a strong team? |
|
to question OP posed:
team looks well-coached at organized possession, play back and switch point of attack well style of play instilled into the team and strength is disciplined play technically the players improve but individual flair not obvious in the team's approach do not know that it can be coached but do not see that it is stifled either |
| hard to distinguish yelling instructions from negative yelling, not a lot of smiles? |
| its not that hard |
|
The coach for the u10 team is a screamer and says crappy things about her team and the team they are playing. If I was a parent at GFR- I would have pulled my kid out. I have witnessed it at two games against GFR and it is awful.
They are a good team but not great. |
