Someone actually stole two hubcaps from my parked car in front of my house. This after we’ve had several car break-ins in the neighborhood. They are $100 each to replace.
Who steals hubcaps ? Has this happened to anyone else ? Or is this a new thing ? Maybe I should invest in a security system for all 4 tires |
Maybe you should invest in rims? |
Maybe you should move |
What kind of cars still hubcaps? |
Be glad your tires weren't taken. Popville chronicles how often people wake up to see their car tireless. |
DC living baby |
People have been stealing hubcaps as long as cars have existed. It’s definitely not a new or unique experience. |
I had this happen to my car. It was close in time to some road work happening in my neighborhood and I think it was someone associated with the road crew. It stopped once the work was completed. I think the thieves sell them. |
Buy wheelocks to protect wheels and rims. |
Prius hubcaps cost ~$110 each.
There's a market for this kind of stuff. |
Cheap, crappy cars with cheap steel wheels. Probably Hyundai or Kia or Toyota or some other kind of cheapie subcompact econobox. |
What do you drive, your highness? |
Bentley or Rolls Royce |
actually the prius has a kind of nice aluminum rims to save weight, but they have an aerodynamic wheel cover to help with the airflow around the vehicle tesla does the same ![]() i would not be suprised if some other hybrids do this |
We had this happen when we lived in Georgetown. I bought some cheap plastic hubcaps (from Kmart back then) and once on, they looked like normal ones. Someone stole those too eventually - they were probably mad they didn't get the real thing.
