I think you missed the point there.

It looked to me like the point was, “Take care of yourself” by hiring others to do something you could do yourself. Which, again, is something that most women cannot afford to do. (Sounds pretty similar to Rachel Hollis explaining “the woman who cleans her toilets”.) Surprisingly, I rarely see any comments to Jen about how completely unrelatable her lifestyle has become. Most comments are like, “Yes girrrrrrrlllll, swipe that card!!!”. Even her fan base has changed since 7.

Which is essentially flaunting her wealth like the other person said. Yeah. Too bad calling her out on it unleashes the overzealous fans. Someone made a criticism of her the other day along the lines of “imagine being rich” or some such and the fans came out in droves to defend Jen. Got kinda heated and hateful. She could be a platform for good, but she’s just another basic influencer… and the worship of her is strong.

Jen 10 years ago: rants about how “rich” people in America are - and how they won’t fix the potholes in their parking lot because that money is better served feeding the homeless and clothing the orphans.

Jen today: Thank God I can just pay someone to decorate for Christmas for me. I’m just so exhausted from all of my vacations. (Narrator: “As the world burns around her.”)

It’s gross how far she’s fallen. It’s even more gross how many of her “fans” have fallen with her. Let’s all worship at the feet of materialism and greed - AT CHRISTMAS.

It’s almost like some of you intentionally read her stuff with the desired goal of being annoyed at her. Why not just…stop? Same with any of these people.

Todays “boy mom” post was the straw for me. Are we dismantling the patriarchy or not… ?

Unfollowed after being a supporter and knowing her closely in adolescence (to the point that a shared experience is an anecdote in one of her books)…

I’m so glad there’s a group of peeps out here who think she’s as annoying as I do. I don’t even have to voice my misgivings about her narcissism. You all have done it for me in 54 pages!

Jen’s brittle narcissism is becoming more and more evident as her career and influence and popularity wane. A similar trajectory as her soulmates Rachel and Dave Hollis over the past year or so. You are seeing more weird outbursts, semi-public melt-downs, manic behaviors, and Look
at Me! posturing. It was always there, of course, but they were able to keep it under wraps when their books were selling and they had tv shows and filled arenas.

Yep.

Jen’s ethics and morality are sort of situational.
She was Christian Mommy Bible teacher…until
she wasn’t.
She was the anti-materialism cut-out-excess queen until she wasn’t.
I have a feeling that Jen’s public stances are largely determined by what brings her the most
success and book and ticket sales.
I have a feeling that if QVC offered her a prominent job shilling
crap the author of “7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess” would jump
at the chance.

I’m an adoptive mom of internationally adopted children and first came across Jen when she adopted her kids (around the same time as I adopted mine).
I find it bizarre that she went back to Ethiopia many times without her kids (though I do think they got to go once), how she doesn’t seem to cook Ethiopian food, and doesn’t have black friends. She broadcasts so much of her life and I assume these are things she would brag about publicly if she did them.

Lol that sweatshirt she is promoting in her latest post is close to $60. Yes, it gives back. But crikey. Just another post the normal gal cannot relate too, most of all FaceTiming the lead of the money you’ve just watched. Totally a snark read at this point to see how each new post desperately tries to eclipse the other. Most grown women can hang out with their friends without telling the internet all about it. But I suppose when you have a platform and nothing more of note to say than look at me and my cute friends and buy these things, this is what works. I’m disappointed. She started out great. Going to give benefit of the doubt and say divorce derailed her and made her desperate and now she’s clinging to attention for survival.

There's a barely suppressed sense of real desperation in her recent posts.

Weird "I AM REEEAAAAALLLY HAPPY, GUYS!!! CAN'T YOU SEE HOW HAPPY I AM!" energy.

Of course Jen has always said she's "a little extra" but these recent posts are approaching something a bit unhinged. If I saw my sisters posting like this I would quietly reach out to them: "Are you okay? Seriously, what's going on?".

Today's post ireked me with sunglasses on....I think it is just so everyone says she looks beautiful. Really who sits here at 12/7 announcing not one holiday present bought? Especially with the supply chain issues. Maybe stay off facebook and get shopping.....

Lin Manuel Miranda don’t know who you are, girl. Calm down.

I am over the giving up on my kids schtick. It’s not cute or relatable. Announcing your neglect of basic things like wellness exams in favor of shilling shit and posting selfies is not ok. If a poor BIPOC mother said she hadn’t bought presents, doesn’t care about grades and won’t be taking them to health exams social services would be called.
