Oh HELL yes. Now I have visions of Gene Kelly rollerskating in my head, with ELO playing in the background.... I still feel guilty in retrospect, given that I "made" my poor parents take me to see that IN THE THEATER at least 3 times. |
I am an AA women with long hair down my back that is not store bought/ fake. |
My minority opinion fake hair looks terrible and unnatural. But plenty of AA women do it. |
Everything by R.E.M is ear garbage. |
Frank Sinatra was so overrated. |
Um it DOES. Affect your generation. The ozone layer? Air quality? Hot weather when it shouldn't be hot? |
TBH, I love warm weather. |
I think people who choose to take jobs far from their house (who don't have a telecommute option) essentially take advantage of their coworkers and are selfish.
If I have to hear either of these excuses one more time: "Sorry, I have to leave a little early today because traffic will be a mess" when the weather is anything other than 72 degrees and sunny or "Sorry I'm 45 minutes late. Traffic was brutal." In my line of work, there are work options closer to where these people live, but they don't pay as much ($10000 ish less) so they choose to work farther from home. If they did the math, they'd realize they have no net gain after gas costs, wear and tear on their car, and their time spent in the car. Take the $10000 less and get your quality of life back and stop relying on coworkers to pick up your slack. |
I love it too, but I feel so guilty eating there because of the complete tramping on workers' rights and other similar issues so I avoid it for that reason. But I'm used to snobs looking down on me, so I don't care about it from that side.. ![]() |
I think having 2 kids is easier than having 1. |
But it doesn't happen slowly and we haven't fixed the last generation's issues. Think of that horrible coal ash spill and the ruined water in several different areas. |
I am an older millenial who is somewhat frustrated by the lack of upward mobility in my career right now, but I think a lot of the problem is that boomers are working later. Some of them have to, which is sad, but since I entered the workforce in 2009, I have seen people who should have retired a long time ago refuse to leave their jobs. I don't blame them -- I think the economy really hurt people's ability to retire. It's just sort of frustrating because opportunities to advance are few and far between right now. I'm happy to put in my time, but I want to know there is a career ladder for me to climb and I'm not just on an eternal hamster wheel. |
I am way too freaking busy to get together for anything my single neighbor keeps asking me to do. I don't want to go to Let's Dish, I don't have time to come over for drinks, I don't have time for a girls' night. I am at my max with a job, a husband who works 60 hours a week, and two kids with SNs. Please just STOP asking me to do these things. I do not have time. If I have a free second after my child stops screaming and falls asleep at 9:45, I go downstairs and have a bowl of cheerios and then collapse in my bed. And at 6 am, when the screaming starts all over again, I get up and start a whole new day, just like the one before. |
Hugs to you PP. Maybe your neighbor knows you have a hard life and is trying to find ways to connect with you. |
Maybe this opinion is in the strong minority, but I believe this is a universal truth. So far my kids like the animated part and a lot of the music and rollerskating. |
