Switching gears a little bit, what’s the average time for a case like this to go to trial or whatever the next step is? It’s been 5 months and seems like very little has happened.

He has an expensive lawyer that will likely drag things out as long as possible

Whar's the point of dragging it out?

Well, like most lawyers that will say and do anything for money, I'm sure they want to have as many billable hours as possible but aside from that it's a common strategy to delay things to try and weaken witness testimony.

My AI lawyer tells me:

❌ No plea entered
❌ No adverse ruling
❌ No release decision
❌ No indication of strength or weakness of the case

My hope is that they are working on a plea deal that will keep Thomas in jail for a good chunk of his life before he’s deported but will spare any of the kids from having to testify.
