I can’t believe that people would look at what is happening in the country right now and think that there is a choice.

There are little clusters of Democrats in this country, & most of you live in one of these clusters. If you get away from these clusters, you will find that what you guys call facism, the rest of the country calls repairing the damage that Democrat administrations have caused. In 2015 or maybe 2016, I called trump a fascist because of the Muslim ban and his strong man rhetoric. It’s ten years later, and ive yet to see his crew take political power except by winning elections. There have been episodes of political violence and (in my view) politically motivated prosecution. And while I think both sides have committed sins in this regard, I’m not at all convinced that MAGA has been the bigger transgressor and, if seriously pressed, would probably say the opposite. The Jimmy Kimmel stuff is bad, but try suggesting you think that Dobbs was rightly decided at an office lunch before suggesting that free speech is somehow squelched more on the left than the right.

At a certain point, mature people have to admit when a theory doesn’t pan out. The Republican Party is simply not a fascist organization in any fair sense of the word, and it’s unfair to the actual victims of fascism to cos-play as one of them simply because you (with ample justification!) dislike Trump.
