Like Hinkley, these idiots who wanted/tried to assassinate Trump wanted fame. They’re losers who were looking to gain notoriety.

Millions of sensible people have a strong dislike for Trump, and don’t make plans to shoot him. Getting shot doesn’t make him anymore likable or electable. He has his base, and can’t grow it.

Routh is indigent and was assigned a public defender. I doubt he has the $150,000 he offered to others to assassinate Trump. If you read the whole document, he is a crazy guy. He had apparently been in Florida for a month trying to assassinate Trump - cell phone data placed him at the golf course or Mar-A-Lago on other days. He had six cellphones, a couple of stolen license plates, and he was apparently trying to flee to Mexico.

How did he fly to Ukraine all the time? Own a house in Hawaii? Stalk Trump for weeks without working a job and pay for food, gas, shelter?

USA Today said Routh did not vote in the presidential election in 2016.

State voting records show him casting ballots in general and municipal elections going back many cycles, including 2008 and 2012 − though not in 2016, when Trump first ran. Records suggest he is not affiliated with a party.

The same records show Routh voted most recently in the March primary election this year in Guilford County, North Carolina. He voted Democratic.

Son of Ryan Routh, accused in Trump assassination attempt, arrested for child pornography

Oran Routh had "hundreds" of files of child pornography, prosecutors said.

The son of Ryan Routh, the man arrested in connection with the second apparent assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump, has been taken into custody on federal charges of possessing child pornography.

Investigators say they discovered "hundreds" of files with child pornography during a search of Oran Routh's residence in Guilford County, North Carolina, on Saturday conducted "in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation."

The two charges he faces include receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.


Investigators said the pornography was found on a Samsung Galaxy Note device located inside Oran Routh's primary bedroom in the residence, as well as another Galaxy Note device in Routh's possession.

"A review of the SD card located in Device-1 revealed that it contained hundreds of child pornography files," prosecutors wrote in the criminal complaint. "These files include videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina."


The complaint included graphic descriptions of the videos and a chat from July in which Oran Routh allegedly responded to someone advertising the content for sale.

Oran Routh will make an initial appearance in North Carolina federal court later Tuesday.

He does not yet have an attorney listed for him.
