The first Trump shooter was literally a registered republican whose parents displayed trump signs.
This second guy voted from trump in 2016 and then became disillusioned with him in 2019.

I wouldn't call either of them democrats. Nice try, though.

Maybe if there were tougher gun laws so mentally ill people and former convicted felons couldn't get guns, neither of these events would have happened?

The first Trump shooter was an ActBlue donor just like the second shooter.

The $15? WGAF? This isn't even a story anymore. Trump got a few days media cycle out of it, but everybody else moved on out of boredom.

And yet, he was actually a registered Republican.

State voter records show that he was a registered Republican. He also donated $15 to liberal campaign group ActBlue in 2021, according to an election donation filing and news reports.

Routh was neither a Republican nor a Democrat. He tended to flip-flop between the parties, but he's a once-but-never-again-Trumper.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3611zjjnd2o
He voted for Trump in 2016 but later turned against him, and made statements of support and contributions to other politicians.

What are his political affiliations?

Routh was registered as an unaffiliated voter in North Carolina, but appears to have voted in the most recent Democratic primary in March, according to state records.

In 2019 and 2020, he gave a number of small donations totalling around $140 (£106) to ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising organisation, according to online federal elections records.

An Associated Press photo of a truck outside Routh's Hawaii home displayed a Biden-Harris campaign sticker on the back.

In the past Routh also backed candidates such as Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat who has since left the party and swung behind Trump, and also declared his support for former Republican presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley.

Authorities have said that Crooks's political views are unknown, and they have not determined whether his assassination attempt was politically motivated.[6] Public records do not indicate his views.[45]
On January 20, 2021 when he was 17, he donated $15 to the Progressive Turnout Project, a liberal voter turnout group, through the Democratic Party donation platform ActBlue.[11][46][16][47] His donation was made on the same day that President Biden was sworn into office.[10] According to the Progressive Turnout Project, he made the donation in response to an email about "tuning into" the inauguration. He unsubscribed from the group's mailing list in 2022.[48][45]
Crooks had been registered to vote since September 2021, when he turned 18.[2] He registered as a Republican[2][3][46][49] and he voted only once, in the 2022 midterm elections.[45]
After the shooting, the FBI uncovered a social media account "believed to be associated with the shooter" with about 700 comments from 2019 to 2020. Reports regarding the content of the posts are currently not unanimous. One account from GAB CEO Andrew Torba said that posts requested from his platform by the FBI were "pro-Biden's immigration policy",[50] whereas a public statement from FBI deputy director Paul Abbate described Crooks's activity on social networking services as antisemitic, anti-immigrant, extreme, and espousing political violence.[51]

Routh first registered to vote in North Carolina in 1988 as a Democrat, according to records provided to FactCheck.org by the North Carolina State Board of Elections. He changed his party affiliation to “unaffiliated” in 2002 and was removed from the voter rolls the following year due to a felony conviction.

According to public records, Routh voted in the Democratic primary in North Carolina in March. North Carolina allows unaffiliated voters to choose which party’s primary to vote in, but those voters can participate in only one primary election.

For most of the time Routh was registered to vote, he didn’t make contributions to federal campaigns, according to Federal Election Commission records. But, starting in 2019, Routh began making modest donations — totaling about $140 — to support Democrats.

According to the court filing, Routh also complained in the missive that Trump “ended relations with Iran like a child and now the Middle East has unraveled.” Routh wrote a rambling, self-published book last year that bitterly denounced Trump and appeared to call for his killing by Iran over his decision to back out of the deal to end Iran’s nuclear weapons program.“

So this guy wrote a book and published it, and the book called for Iran to kill Trump and nobody was concerned? The Secret Service didn’t investigate a guy who openly called for a foreign government to kill a former US president?

Routh is indigent and was assigned a public defender. I doubt he has the $150,000 he offered to others to assassinate Trump. If you read the whole document, he is a crazy guy. He had apparently been in Florida for a month trying to assassinate Trump - cell phone data placed him at the golf course or Mar-A-Lago on other days. He had six cellphones, a couple of stolen license plates, and he was apparently trying to flee to Mexico.

Routh is indigent?

How did he fly to Ukraine all the time? Own a house in Hawaii? Stalk Trump for weeks without working a job and pay for food, gas, shelter?

How many times did “indigent” Routh fly to Ukraine?

Some people in this thread are defending him.

Some people are saying he is crazy, but the stuff he said about Trump is the same stuff we see posted on dcum everyday.

Posting and commenting in good faith is important.

The audacity of a pp who reads like a maga type suggesting people find factual basis for arguments is next level.

So Routh had his rights violated by Trump and the Secret Service? And you think he should sue them for the civil rights violations they perpetrated against him?

USA Today said Routh did not vote in the presidential election in 2016.

State voting records show him casting ballots in general and municipal elections going back many cycles, including 2008 and 2012 − though not in 2016, when Trump first ran. Records suggest he is not affiliated with a party.

The same records show Routh voted most recently in the March primary election this year in Guilford County, North Carolina. He voted Democratic.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2024/09/16/ryan-routh-trump-assassination-suspect/75241175007/

So how was Trump his pick? He didn’t vote for Trump.

Routh is a liar, a criminal, and tried to assassinate Trump. It is beyond speculation now he wanted to kill Trump. He never voted for Trump. Routh is not a republican, he is a democrat.

Investigation: Fingerprints on rifle found at Trump golf club match suspect Ryan Routh
Assassination attempt task force says it appears Secret Service acted correctly before and after Routh's discovery

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —
Attempted assassination suspect Ryan Routh allegedly left behind an AK-47 style rifle, two backpacks filled with ceramic tiles, a video camera and food in his hedge hideout.

And now the FBI has matched Routh’s fingerprints with those on the gun.

Meanwhile, members of the Trump Assassination Attempt Task Force spoke to reporters Wednesday about their briefing into the Secret Service’s security protocols Sunday at the golf club.

“It does not appear at this point there were any obvious failures of security and protocols. So, unlike the Butler situation which very obviously had some failures, it does appear as though the security processes and protocols were followed and the system worked as designed," said Rep Jason Crow, (D) Colorado.

You lost me at attempted assassination. The SS agents who opened fired need to be in jail.

Why would a Secret Service agent be jailed for doing his job correctly?
