| Would it be weird to serve pizza and cake at this time, or should I just stick with cake? |
My preschooler would still be napping at 2pm. Unless it's a good friend, he would not attend. That said, if you do it, serve snacks and cake. Have a fruit platter or veggie tray and some pretzels. |
|
If the preschooler is 3 they may have naps then. Not so if they're 5. Just saying.
To answer your question, I prefer cake. It's not a meal time. |
| OP here, my kid is 4 and neither he nor his friends nap...i already know people are attending, but don't want to be one of those bad hosts who doesn't serve enough. |
| Eh, just serve a variety of food. Fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers. Cake too. |
This. I’d do a veggie tray. Cheese tray crackers hummus and cheese curls. Plus cake. |
| I would serve small bites: mac & cheese balls, trader Joe's taquitos, fruits etc, and def cake |
Then I say just cake, but specify that on the invite. *Cake will be served at 3pm, after an hour of bouncing/sword fighting/whatever. Then people can plan accordingly. |
| Yes, serve food. Pizza is fine. So are snacky items like cheese and crackers, fruit and little appetizers.... But have multiple snacks. I find pizza is easier then getting a bunch of apps. In my family, a party = food. I would be really surprised if I went to a party and there was only cake. |
This is why it needs to be explicitly stated on an invite what will be served- to avoid disappointment. |
| Neither of my kids napped by 3. Anyway, I’d serve pizza just because kids seem to always be hungry. I hate when my kids are starving after birthday parties. |
| Always serve food. |
Who refers to a five year old as a preschooler? |
| My almost three year old would be napping. |
Anyone who has a child with a birthday that falls between Oct 1 and the summer? My DD (who is still 4) is in preschool. We are going to a 5th birthday party this weekend. They will all start kindergarten in the fall. |
