Thoughts on platform sneakers?

How do you feel about platform sneaker trend? Are these too “young” for a 45 yo woman? Have a work conference coming up. It’s in Las Vegas in April, casual, construction industry, will be doing a lot of walking/standing.

These are just a few ideas of what I am talking about.

Anything else appropriate to wear with jeans/ankle pants?

I kind of like the Steve Madden in the navy.
Converse look like what my teenager would wear.

I really hate these—wear platforms or wear sneakers. They are not meant to be mixed. Go with flats or something like Allbirds.

I had those steve maddens back in the day.

I know these are trendy right now but I think they look ridiculous. Especially on a grown woman.

I'm 36, if that matters.

Trendy and they'll look stupid in a year or two when the trend dies.

Canvas sneakers don't last that long anyway, what's the harm in following a trend.

Awful looking- even on the models

I've been eyeing them thinking it would be a good commuting shoe so I don't step on my pant hem, but they look so funny I just can't do it.

At regular height, all ofthese are fine — the platform versions look silly.

I like Puma for platform sneakers.

Some of these platform sneakers are so heavy that they feel like you're wearing cement blocks on your feet.

I"m still cringing that I wore these in the 90s. Will not be doing it again. I still remember my grandmum telling me I looked like I had a physical disability when I wore them. I have been unable to unhear that after all this time and I now see what she meant when I see others wear them.

I'm 37, and I ordered a pair and returned it immediately as I realized I agree!

They look like orthotic shoes. I would steer clear. Choose another sneaker.
