Thoughts on platform sneakers?

I am 37 and absolutely hate the trend.

I will be the dissenting opinion. 38 years old and all I wear are funky sneakers, many of them platforms.

The ones you've picked out are so basic (the good kind of basic) that they hardly qualify as trendy. You'll look great in them. The ones you are choosing are simple sneakers and you can't go wrong with them.

OP, do you have other trendy sneakers? All sneaks are trendy right now so I’d opt for a pair of Nike Cortez or Reebok Classics or Vans.

I'm 49 and LOVE them with cute sundresses! You have to find the right pair.

I am 40 and am shopping for a good quality leather sneakers, be they platform or not. I think they are great to 'tone down' more 'grown up' or ladylike items so that I don't look too deliberately put together from head to toe - if that makes sense.

I hate them as much as I hate platform/wedge flip flops. But you do you, Boo Boo!!

These are just a few ideas of what I am talking about.

Anything else appropriate to wear with jeans/ankle pants?

This cracks me up. I used to wear platform sneakers in the late 90s. Back when the Spice Girls were trendy and Sketchers started to take off.

Ok for teens. Definitely not for over 30.
